StarCraft: Brood War Strategies and Tips
Tips: Zerg, Terran, and Protoss
Remember to defend against rushes in the beginning of the game, especially if you have any Zerg opponents.
If you are planning on rushing your opponents, make sure you have enough defense before you attack, since rushes don't always work.
To make sure transports don't get into your base and unload huge armies, spread out turrets, spore colonies, or photon cannons out all over you base, not just the outside because they can just fly past them and unload right in the middle of your base.
Always try to expand to as many other places with resources as early as you can.
Be sure to upgrade your weapons and armor so you have better defense and offense.
Make sure you know what you enemies have by using parasites, Comsat, observers, or any other thing you can use to spy on your enemy so you know what to expect if you attack.
Try to attack the enemy soon after they attack you so you can catch them while they are weak.
When making armies, make various units because they attack better than just one type of unit.
Tips: Zerg
If your enemy is Protoss, you should try and do a Zergling rush on them since they take a while to create Zealots.
If you are planning on a Zergling rush, go for their Pylons so their buildings become unpowered.
Make sure you keep making Zerglings if you think your rush is working so you can take out any probes since they can kill Zerglings.
If you are rushing a Terran enemy, make sure you have some Sunken Colonies at your base because they can make marines and bunkers which can ruin your attack.
Make Zerglings for protection too, because they can take out Siege Tanks easily.
Zerglings make better defense if they have upgraded movement and attack (at the Spawning Pool)
If your enemy is Zerg too, you shouldn't try to rush them because they can make Zerglings just as fast as you.
Tips: Terran
Since the Terran can't rush as well as the Protoss and Zerg, you should try to defend against rushes instead of trying to do one.
You shouldn't use Firebats too much unless you plan on putting them in Bunkers, because they do really well against Zealots and Zerglings.
You shouldn't use Valkyries too much unless you are certain that you enemy has some air armies coming at you.
Valkyries can also be used to rush into Zerg bases and quickly destroy Overlords.
If you are making a Battlecruiser army, make sure there are no scouts or devourers that can easily destroy your army.
If your Battlecruisers' armor is at level 3, it will almost make it invincible against corsairs.
You should put Spider Mines in your base if you think your enemy might send some Dark Templar to your base.
