Race Bikes...
One of the deciding factors in purchasing
a Japanese Motorcycle, other than Geoff MacKay's introduction, was the mechanical
state of my Harley. My Harley purchase was extremely joyful for the first
year, as I really didn't push its mechanical limits. However, after I had
gained some experience, with lots of help from John MacKay, I wanted to
go faster.
So I purchased a multitude of performance parts from Victoria Bodyworks,
a small race shop in my home town. After bolting on a new carb, having the
heads ported and polished, and installing a full exhaust I was so happy
with the additional performance I knew I needed more. So I bought a stroker
kit, had a valve job done, and installed nitrous. Needless to say, reliability
became an issue, as I was constantly having to tune the bike before I could
ride. I decided to buy a bike that would be fast bone stock.
