I posted the pictures from this morning's taping of Good Morning America. And if that doesn't make you happy enough, check out next week's cover of US Weekly!

Tuesday, May 27, 2003

Wednesday, May 28, 2003:

Live! with Regis and Kelly (ABC) 9 am EST

Clay overload! I can hardly keep up with all this stuff!

For starters, I'm going to try to get into the studio audience for Good Morning America tomorrow morning. We'll see how it goes...If you catch it, look for the silly-looking 20-something in hysterics and that will be me. And if there's more than one silly-looking 20-something in hysterics, I'll be the one in the red. ;)

Clay had a GREAT interview this morning with the local radio station here in NY, Z100. I have the entire transcript typed up, and I'll try to post it later on today. On the sounds page I added a teeny little clip from the interview that was really cute.

Clay was on The Today Show yesterday morning with the Velvet Sweaty Bear. He had an interview with Katie Couric and sang "God Bless the USA" with RS. I was real cross about this, because Clay was totally unannounced, and as a result I slept through his interview. I'm getting really sick of Fox (or whoever is supposedly in charge of scheduling and promoting Clay) doing a half-ass job letting us know in advance when Clay's going to be on television.

They were both also on MTV's Total Request Live yesterday afternoon. Now that was a total waste of a show. Carson Daly's interviewing technique could not have been less inspired, and he only asked Clay two questions: Q1: Do you like Avril Lavigne? A: Yes. (not said with much enthusiasm) and Q2: What's your album going to be like? Is it mostly pop? A2: Yes. Anyway, after that you could practically hear the Clay fans around the country yowling in pain when they delegated Clay with the task of taking polaroids of each bikini-clad audience member hugging the Velvet Sweaty Bear. Consider yourself lucky if you missed it.

Added 10 new pictures.

More good news: Clay is still at #1 on Amazon.com. The guy who supposedly won on Wednesday, on the other hand, has slipped down to #5. Explain THAT Simon Cowell!

Clay and the guy who supposedly won on Wednesday (I've got to come up with a way to refer to him that doesn't take as long to type. Let me know if you have any ideas.) were on Larry King just now. I believe the show will repeat later on, so check out your listings if you missed it.

Larry asked Clay if he knew about the results beforehand, and Clay said that he did sneek a peek at Ryan's card at some point before they went on stage, and saw that the winner had a long name, so he didn't think it was him. Regarding the story in the National Enquirer about emails from Clay to a friend in which he supposedly said he thought the show was rigged--Clay said that was the first he heard of it and that it was not true. He said he trusted the producers completely. What a sucker.

It was a pretty cute interview. Clay looked a bit uncomfortable with the two "controversial" questions, but that's about it. He said they were having "talks" about his contract, which I think is FANTASTIC. Make them grovel, Clay!

Feeling a bit better today. I added 20 new pictures. And as a reminder, Clay is still #1 at Amazon.com. The guy who supposedly won on Wednesday is still at #2.

Clay will be on Larry King tonight on CNN @ 9pm EST.

Hi, guys! I still can't seem to focus enough to do serious work on this site. Ack. I seem to be in this really weird daze. But I wanted to give you guys this link. That's a thread on a Clay MB where the mods have been kind enough to allow us to all vent our frustrations, so if you're looking for a place to curse out that slimy bastard Simon Cowell, post away!

Just be sure you limit any bashing or negative comments to that one thread, because it isn't allowed elsewhere on the board. Going on there and saying exactly what I think of the dickheads that run American FRAUD has been the only way I've gotten through the past 24 hours.

As you can well imagine, I am not in the best mood right now. Let me say this now--If you are offended by swearing, I recommend you avoid this site for the next, oh say, MONTH? Seriously, right now I am going to try to collect my thoughts and comfort some of my fellow Clay-fans, but it's possible I'll be on here later tonight doing some serious cursing, not to mention taking all references to that steaming pile of crap they call "American Idol" off this page.

Tuesday, May 20, 2003

Wow. Was that the most boring episode of American Idol or what? Seriously, the makers of that show dropped the ball so many times I lost count. This was the battle we've all been looking forward to? What was the battle? To put the audience to sleep? Six (count them: 6!) ballads?! What the hell were they thinking?

Other thoughts--Yay! Clay got to show off his lower regsiter with the last song! Truly amazing. But why did he decide to suddenly change his wardrobe and go back to his casual, pre-makeover attire? He still looked great, but I couldn't believe the same guy that's been all about suits decided a nice button up was appropriate for the GRAND FINALE. Hm. And SOMEBODY GET THAT CHOIR OFF THE STAGE!!!

Anyway, in less than 24 hours Clayton will be the new American Idol and we will all be partying! I'll try to do some updates tonight and tomorrow.

NEWS FLASH!!

Finally some good news to report! You can now pre-order Clay's first single from Amazon.com! The tracklist includes "This is the Night" and "On the Wings of Love." Amazon says it will be available on June 3. The really good news? Clay's single has already risen to #14 on their sales chart as I'm writing this. That means that in less than 24 hours, his single has outsold thousands of other cds--without us even hearing it! (It's worth noting that Ruben's single is also listed as available, but as I'm writing this, it has yet to appear on the sales rankings.)

So get your boo-tay over there and pre-order a copy! I was quite happy to see that they offer a variety of ways to pay, which is great for those of us who are blacklisted by the credit card companies. :)

Don't you just love Angelfire? Yesterday they decided to randomly delete my entire index page, so if you tried coming here, only to find a big white screen--that's why. Luckily I managed to salvage this page and now it's back online.

For those of you who haven't heard, there's now a story behind Clay's performance of "Vincent" on Tuesday's show. Apparently the AI producers asked him to add lyrics to the song to stretch it out less than an hour before showtime. This has been a rumor for a while now, but now you can hear it straight from Clay's mouth. Expecting them to announce this on the actual show would probably be expecting too much, but several radio stations have carried the story.

How are you guys enjoying this weeks Ruben media-blitz? Fun, isn't it?

Friday, May 16, 2003

Well, kids, in lest than a week Clay will be crowned the next American Idol!

The bad news is that on Monday my roommate is planning on axing my internet connection. I guess I deserve it, since I've been mooching off of her for about nine months now. Anyway, could her timing be any worse? I suspect this means Clayton's Place is going to miss out on the huge media blitz next week, but the good news is that I'm going to use my internet down time to work on pulling together a new layout for the page. I'll try to make temporary news updates, but media is probably going to be out of the question, since I'll have to resort to public internet access. But don't lose faith! I'm going to try to get a high-speed connection of my own, and then I Clayton's Place can come back even better, with more media.

In the meantime, I'll try to upload as much info and media onto the site as I can manage to tide you guys over until I can get back on track. Thanks for the support so far and get ready for a great next week!

Clay gave 3 outstanding performances on the show tonight. His first one was a little shaky, but he more than made up for it with the next two. Go Clay!

Added 10 new images.

I added a link to vote for the site on The Top 20 American Idol Sites over there on the left. I told you I wasn't above such gimmicks.

Monday, May 12, 2003

I've added more quotes and completely updated Clay's AI Performances, adding comments from the judges.

Also added 5 sound clips and one wallpaper.

I'm really trying to get this site up and running, but Angelfire, AOL, and a 56K modem seem to be conspiring against me. Anyway, I've made numerous changes, which I will continue through the night until my computer makes me so mad I decide "To hell with it!" and hold the power button down for 5 seconds because it is so stupid it doesn't even know how to shut down anymore and crawl into bed feeling bitter and exhausted.

I added a link over there to the left for a Fansite Awards site. One of the good things about their site is that they have a panel of judges who visit the sites, rather than people having visitors vote by clicking on one of those "Vote for my site!" banners. Not that I'm above such gimmicks.

Angelfire seems to decide randomly which of my graphics to display, so if you're seeing the boxes with the little red "x" in them, you can right click to "show picture" to see it the way it's supposed to be. If anyone knows why Angelfire is doing this, please let me know.
