This newsclipping taken from the San Jose Mercury News was provided 
by Don Pierson, a contributor to this site. The article served as an announcement 
of a stand-alone Cartrivision VTR which was to be made available to the 
public in May of 1973 at a price of $700. It is interesting to note that the 
stand-alone unit never materialized beyond the prototype stage as by the 
time that these were to be made available, CTV was already out of business.
