How I cracked foolproof security system in the school network

When I first got here I already realized there were a security system on the computers, called Foolproof security system, I went on the internet and looked for information on it and mainly how to crack it.

From one website I learned with Windows 98 all you have to do is delete the entire section of [foolproof] in win.ini inside the windows folder can disable foolproof completely

But half of the system is Windows 2000 and have a newer version of foolproof, so that won't work, so I made a boot disk and checked to see if I can use it to start up the system in DOS and delete foolproof from there.

That was a complete sucess, more or less anyways, I was able to elimate foolproof by deleting it, I had trouble with that just deleting the foolproof folder, they also have a folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Riverdeep\FPS, and that is the startup of FPS, means I'll have to delete that as well. but then I was unable to restore it, means that the school had one computer without foolproof, and that would get me in trouble, so I tested if I can rename the foolproof files, that was a great sucess too but I have to do it everytime from DOS and restart after each time I want it off/on. So I went deeper into researching.

From usage of the computers, I learned that you can run batch files (.bat files) on the computer and they would work completely, even though you're unable to go into command.com you are able to use batch files. So I started windows 2k and written a simple batch file consisting of the following commands: (You must know a few DOS commands in order to know what's going on, REN is dos command for rename, you use it like this REN [orignal filename here] [new filename here], @ECHO is just displaying things, it doesn't matter if you put in the @echos or not)

@ECHO This program is created by The StarGazer of the White Hand
@ECHO After running this program, restart and The Foolproof Security System will be off
@ECHO Happy hacking script kiddies
ren c:\progra~1\fps\fpsui.exe fpsui.ex
ren c:\progra~1\fps\fps.exe fps.ex
ren c:\progra~1\common~1\riverdeep\foolproof\fpl\fpl.exe fpl.ex
ren c:\progra~1\common~1\riverdeep\foolproof\fpl\fplservice.exe fplservice.ex

All that renamed every excetuables of foolproof security system on the computer, it varies for different computers, for example, the foolproof security system on windows 98 here is actually in c:\SSS

After that I thought I have to restore foolproof security system each time I leave, and to enter the folders each time and renaming each of them into their normals names was just too much work, so I made another batch file consisting of:

@ECHO This program is created by The StarGazer of the White Hand
@ECHO After running this program, restart and The Foolproof Security System will be back on
@ECHO Happy hacking script kiddies
ren c:\progra~1\fps\fpsui.ex fpsui.exe
ren c:\progra~1\fps\fps.ex fps.exe
ren c:\progra~1\common~1\riverdeep\foolproof\fpl\fpl.ex fpl.exe
ren c:\progra~1\common~1\riverdeep\foolproof\fpl\fplservice.ex fplservice.exe

It is just simply the reverse of the first batch file

Now I have a foolproof way to elimanate the foolproof security system, everytime I use the computer, I enter the url, www.angelfire.com/alt/aaaleon2000/antifps.bat in order to get rid of foolproof, then I log off, log back in, and foolproof is off, and when I leave I run fps.bat and log off and log back in.

Recent Studies of the Foolproof Security System shows that it uses registry keys to modify its settings, means anyone with computer knowledge can use "Windows logo key, RUN, regedit" to modify its settings without any FPS password, this new discovery means that foolproof can be on but at the same time you can still do whatever you want.

After a few tests, you can save and modify almost everything except some settings

Right now, I am able to do EVERYTHING you can do on a normal computer except task manager and the start menu properties. It's getting too easy now.

It would appear the admins have typed the password into the computer I was using, with a keylogger on it, I stole the password too, an extra bonus. :D

Foolproof Security System is indeed foolproof, but the thing is that you don't protect your computers from fools, you protect them from people like me.

Mission accomplished

Oh and Don't try this at home, I got busted and banned from all school computers :(
