But no matter what happens he will go down in the record book for using a corked bat. He was at the plate when a fast ball conected on the inside part of the bat making it brake. 9.Martha stewart was found guilty of fraud. She deliberateley tried to inflate the stock of her own company, wwhen she stood up last summer and denied engaging in insider traiding. If she is charged with these five counts that she is charged with, she could find herself in prison for up to seven years. 8.Columbia Sace shuttle Crashed on there way home from a journey. Febuary 2, 2003 was the very tragic date that when the seven astronauts on board the Columbia past away. 7.Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped on June 5 2002 and found on March 12, 2003. She was kiddnapped from her bedroom by a drifter that had worked on her families hoime in November 2001. 6.The kidnapping in Quartz Hill Two teenage girls were kidnapped at gunpoint in the early morning of August 1. Roy Ratliff, the kidnapper, was shot twice in the head by Sheriffs trying to rescue the girls. 5.Laci Peterson was kidnpped and nurdered on December 24, 2002. Her husband is the prime suspect in the case and is currently being held without bail. 4.Anthrax scare The chemical anthrax was being sent through the mail to people in the US. Several people contracted anthrax but few died. SARS 3.SARS An epidemic of a virus called SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome)has benn traced to Asia. Most people with SARS are quarantined to prevent transmission. 5% of the people who contract SARS die, most who die are older people. 2.The war in Iraq began on March 20, 2003. The major conbet only lasted 21 days but there was a alot of death and destruction. It is unknown if Saddam Hussein, our main target, is alive. 1.September 11 On September 11, 2001 terrorists attacked The World Trade Center in New York, The Pentagon and another plane was taken down, in Pennslyvania, by the passengers. The Al-Qaeda was reponsible for the attack. More than 3000 people die in the Twin Towers alone when they collapsed. 200 of them her Fire and Police men trying to save the people inside.
