Newman

Newman came from the Floyd-Rome County Animal Control in Rome, Georgia. His story is actually quite sad. He had been to the shelter once before as a stray. His owners paid the find and came and got him. Newman showed up once again. This time his owners didnt want to pay the fine to pull him out again. With the help of severeal other rescues were were able to pull Newman out. His original name was Max, but he did not respond to it, so we changed it to Newman because of his big blue eyes. He was a sweet boy that craved human contact. Quiet, mellow and just plain beautiful we became out living room "center peice" for a month or so, until his new owner Susanne Gibboney found him.

Susanne had owned Dalmatians her entire life and had recently lost her last due to old age. He too was a rescue and only had 3 legs. Her house was perfect for Newman. She had a fenced backyard with access to it via a doggie door. With an interview, a house check and a meeting I knew she was the right one for Newman.

He went to his new home on 12-21-08. We just followed up and he is doing very well. Still getting a hang of the doggie door, other than that they say he is just the perfect dog!!
