What The Flag Means To Me

I think the flag is a symbol of respect. I am a member of the Boy Scouts of America. And as a member, I have learned how to respect the flag in the proper way. Like how to fold it, how to raise and lower it, how to salute it, and to never let it touch the ground. The Boy Scout uniform even has patch of the United States flag on the right sleeve. I think every American citizen should respect it. I think the flag is a reminder to us of all that died defending it. My grandfather fought in the Vietnam War defending it. My cousins that are in the Army are defending it. My other grandfather was in the Air Force training men to defend it. I think all Americans are responsible for defending it. I think the flag is a reminder to us for everyone that died on the September 11 attacks on America. The firefighters found the flag from the World Trade Center and hung it up above the destruction. I feel sorry for every family that lost a loved one on that day. Nobody will ever forget that day. I think the flag is a symbol of justice. I thank God that we have police officers to keep justice. If there weren't any, people could commit any crime they wanted to. Soon everybody would join in and do anything they please. The American flag is all these things, but it wouldn't be if God hadn't blessed us with all of them, We all should all be thankful that we have a Father that is loving enough to bless us with such a great nation!
