Finding images online

Here is a list of sites you can visit to search for images. (Just don’t give anyone your email address. Some of these sites will send you junk mail if you do.)

Google Image Search

This is usually your best bet. Search for images just as you normally search for websites.

Barry’s Clip Art

A copious clip-art collection integrated with a few other copious clip-art collections.

Media Builder

This one has a lot of background patterns and such.

Web Clipart at About.com

Like all the about.com sites, it throws a lot of “pop-under” ads at you. But if you can stand that, it’s worth a look.

Stuff!

Here’s a British clip-art site. This one expects you to provide a link to their site on every page where you use one of their graphics.

Animation Factory

It’s actually good practice to avoid animated graphics, especially the kind that endlessly repeat. But if you want to try them, here you go. (GIF files can be animated; JPEGs cannot.)
