Finding images online
Here is a list of sites you can visit to search for images. (Just don’t give anyone your email address. Some of these sites will send you junk mail if you do.)
- Google Image Search
- This is usually your best bet. Search for images just as you normally search for websites.
- Barry’s Clip Art
- A copious clip-art collection integrated with a few other copious clip-art collections.
- Media Builder
- This one has a lot of background patterns and such.
- Web Clipart at About.com
- Like all the about.com sites, it throws a lot of “pop-under” ads at you. But if you can stand that, it’s worth a look.
- Stuff!
- Here’s a British clip-art site. This one expects you to provide a link to their site on every page where you use one of their graphics.
- Animation Factory
- It’s actually good practice to avoid animated graphics, especially the kind that endlessly repeat. But if you want to try them, here you go. (GIF files can be animated; JPEGs cannot.)
