You’ll want to bookmark the Login page to the Web Shell. (The Web Shell lets you upload pages, create directories, and edit pages on the server.)
File names are cAsE-seNSiTive. That means index.html and Index.html and INDEX.html will be treated as three different files. They will not overwrite each other.
Hyphens (-) are not allowed in file names; use underscore (_) instead. If you upload new-file.html, the Angelfire server will automatically change the name to new_file.html. That means any links to new-file.html will not work.
When uploading files to Angelfire from a Windows PC, be aware that file names of eight letters or fewer may be automatically capitalized by Windows, or possibly set in uppercase.
Keep copies of your HTML files on your own “local” computer. Make changes to these files, then upload them to Angelfire with the Web Shell. Or you can use the Web Shell to edit files on the server, but don't forget to update your local copies as well.
Banner ads will appear at the top of each page. These ads often look peculiar when viewed with Netscape 4.7 or earlier. (Sorry, there’s nothing we can do about it.) If you use a browser to view the source for one of your pages, you will see a lot of complex, ad-related code. If you edit pages in the Web Shell, or on your local machine, you will not have to look at this code.
If you want to use an FTP client to move pages to and from your Angelfire site, all you need to know is that the server name is ftp.angelfire.com and your username is the last part of your URL. For example, if your site is at https://www.angelfire.com/al4/rob then your username is al4/rob
