RWF Report 12/27/02

Reported By Terry Ray on 12/27/02.

Rampage Wrestling Federation - Christmas Chaos 2002

Show opened with Todd Zane and his manager/lawyer, Skip Skipperman, calling out "Crusher" Cecil Plezing (who is the special referee during the RWF Championship Match between Zane and "Bomber" Jack Lord). Skipperman tried to buy Crusher with a large envelope of cash, but Crusher refused. Zane told Crusher he better not cause him to lose the title tonight or he would pay for it.

1. Steven Michaels vs. Benin
Very good match that saw the RWF debut of Benin and the return of Michaels after a 3 month layoff. Michaels was able to come out ahead in this hotly contested match.

2. Big Easy vs. Bobby Black
Easy continued his winning streak in this matchup. Black, also new to the RWF, gave a good accounting of himself, but could not escape the big chokeslam of Easy.

3. Whiplash vs. Matrix
This ongoing feud seeming culminated in a Ladder Match. The crowd was on it's feet in excitement and also trying to get out of the way as this match spilled out onto the ringside area several times. In the end, it was Whiplash off the top of the ladder with a moonsault that missed, allowing Matrix to pick up the pinfall. Matrix stated after the match that he was through with Whiplash and was ready for a more deserving opponent.

4. T.C. Carnage & Creed vs. Mad Dog & Venom
T.C. & Creed have teamed up on a couple of occasions and looked very well yet again. They came out the winners after Creed forced Venom to submit to the full-nelson.

5. Justin Idol vs. Bull Horton
Bull has been dominating the popular Idol in their series of matches, but had to settle for defeat in this Tables Match. After a hard fought match, Bull set the table up at ringside and placed Idol on it. Bull came off the ring apron, but Idol moved and Bull crashed through the table, earning Idol the win. After the match, Bull became very upset and said the last thing anyone in the RWF wanted was a Raging Bull!

6. Demonmaster vs. Jason Valentine
The crowd was wowed by the flashy entrance of Demonmaster, who blew fireballs that seemed to engulf the high ceiling. Demonmaster, who is semi-retired, came back to the RWF to defend his U.S. Championship against Valentine (who competed with the RWF back in the late 90's). It was a textbook match of wrestling holds which finally saw Demonmaster come out on top.

7. Stacy Hardin vs. Havoc
Hardin, one of the owners of the RWF, faced Havoc in a 5 Round Boxing Match. Havoc infurated the crowd by staying on the ropes and running from Hardin most of the match. In the 5th and final round, Havoc managed to get his gloves off and tried to clothesline Hardin, but Hardin ducked and nailed him out with a hugh roundhouse punch. The winner by knockout was Hardin.

8. Bulldog Raines & Adam Roberts vs. Bret Christopher & Mr. Bigg
For the second week in a row, these two teams tried to tear each other apart in this No DQ Match. After the referee was knocked out of the ring, a second referee came in and from there confusion reigned. At the same time that Roberts was pinning Bigg, Christopher was pinning Raines. Both referees counted the pin, but could not decide who the actual winner was. RWF officials later review the tapes and declared the match a no-contest.

9. Todd Zane vs. Jack Lord
This long anticipated RWF Championship matchup saw Lord dominating the majority of the time. Zane was able to run Lord into Crusher, knocking both men down. Zane tried to capitalize on this, but Lord was able to put Zane in a pinning situation. Crusher started to make the three count and Skipperman pulled him out of the ring. Crusher went after Skipperman and as he was about to nail him, Skipperman pulled out the envelope of money and again tried to give it to Crusher. Crusher refused, but then Skipperman produced a second envelope. Crusher took both the envelopes, got back in the ring, and nailed Lord with a massive clothesline and then gave Zane the victory with a quick three count. After Zane & Skipperman left the ring, Crusher continued to pound on Lord until Creed was able to run him off.

Another item of note was the backstage visit from former RWF Champion, and WWE Superstar, Bull Buchanan (B-2). Buchanan signed autographs for the fans, but since he is under WWE contract, was not able to actually participate in the event.
