AWF Report 7/05/03

American Wrestling Federation report for July 5

By Jay Felsberg

Correspondent

The American Wrestling Federation card on July 5 at the Roulhac Community Center in Chipley featured six great matches.

Street Bandit (accompanied by Melissa) met Sinn (accompanied by HellKat) in the opening match. The match featured plenty of action; poor Melissa having blood spit on her by Sinn, and was climaxed by Sinn being disqualified for using Street Bandit’s chair. Sinn expressed his frustration by piledriving Bandit onto the chair.

Confederate Kid and Jason Hero (accompanied by Amber) met Luscious Larry and Mr. Fantasy (accompanied by Sexy Samantha). Kid and Hero, who both got to use their finishers on Larry, won the match. There was more to this match, however, than a tag-team win.

Mr. Fantasy (who was given a wife-beater shirt by Hero before the match) is lovely valet, Samantha. This led to less attention being paid by Fantasy toward his tag-team partner. As Larry faced trouble from Kid and Hero, Fantasy grabbed Samantha and headed for the locker room. After Larry was pinned, Samantha dashed back to the ring to see if the Luscious One was okay. This set Fantasy off on his usual abuse on poor Samantha, which drew a heated response from Larry: “This is my home, and I don’t tolerate a woman abuser”. Larry made it clear that if Fantasy kept it up, that Fantasy could “go one on one with the Luscious One.

Lost Avenger met Daredevil in a “libre lucha” style match, which ended with a win by Daredevil and a run in by Curtis LeRoy to chokeslam Daredevil.

The recent change of tag-team champions led to a confrontation between former champs Raine Quapone and Chief Little Bear. Raine angrily accused Little Bear of losing HIS belt, after Bear was forced to use a replacement from the crowd by Commissioner Blake Richards. The two immediately launched into a brutal match that ended with a double count on both wrestlers as they took their battle to the parking lot.

Ryan Fury and Czr challenged the Daltons (accompanied by Renee) for the big cowboys’ tag-team belts. The crowd gave all sorts of heck to the Daltons, and Ryan Fury “borrowed” a Dalton cowboy hat to taunt the Daltons. Czr was victim of a run-in by the Assassin, who “borrowed” the Daltons’ cowbell to clobber the big man from Las Vegas as the Daltons ganged up on Fury for the pin.

Backdraft and the maniacal and increasingly unpredictable Curtis LeRoy met in a hardcore war. Backdraft brought out a trashcan full of weapons, and later used the trashcan (among other useful items) on LeRoy. Street Bandit and Melissa interfered, which led to LeRoy laying his devastating Florida Flapjack powerbomb on poor Melissa. Bandit then nailed LeRoy with his chair, leading to a win by Backdraft.

Canadian heel Aeon Flexx (whining as usual about nasty Americans) defended his AWF title against Forsaken. Flexx got help on a run in by Mr. Fantasy, who nailed the ref and powerbombed Forsaken, but it only produced a two count. The match ended when Jason Hero brought a chair to the ring and Forsaken was disqualified. This led to a double beat down on Hero by Flexx and Forsaken, and yet another bit of “friendly” advice from Flexx to Hero – “Mess with me and you will pay”.

Next Chipley match will be Saturday, July 19 at 8 p.m. at Roulhac Community Center. Watch AWF on WMBB Channel 13 from Panama City at 2 a.m. Sunday morning, WDHN Channel 18 out of Dothan at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and Springfield cable at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
