AWF returns to Roulhac Community Center:

By Jay Felsberg

American Wrestling Federation fans packed Roulhac Community Center in Chipley Saturday night, July 19, and saw new challenges made and new coalitions formed.

One coalition has formed between the hated AWF Champion, Aeon Flexx and Mr. Fantasy (“Every Woman’s Fantasy”). The two heels came out before the opening match, and after cutting off the playing of our National Anthem, proceeded to berate the large crowd and announce that Flexx will remain champion, and Fantasy will soon be TV Champion (Fantasy stole the TV belt from Luscious Larry a few weeks back). Fantasy also delivered his usual abuse to his lovely valet, Sexy Samantha.

Sinn (Accompanied by HellKat) beat Czr in the opening match, and after the win called out AWF Commissioner Blake Richards to help in a beatdown of Czr. Sinn and Richards then announced the formation of “X Nation”. “I am here to speak of changes coming soon”, Sinn said on the AWF Yahoo fan site. When X Nation comes, there will be nothing anyone can do. Sinn will be heard, and seen like never before, so stay tuned”.

Forsaken (accompanied by HellKat) took on Backdraft. Forsaken took control of the wild match as HellKat distracted the referee and threw brass knuckles to her wrestler. However, Backdraft got hold of the knucks, and the rugged firefighter knocked Forsaken out before the referee saw what happened.

Daredevil met Lost Avenger, accompanied by Dandy Jack, and took the win when Jack used a street sign on the wrong wrestler.

NOTE: It was not a good night for poor Jack. Several fans have large color pictures of Dandy Jack in an embarrassing moment in Ozark, and the fans are displaying the pictures at matches and chanting “Captain Kangaroo” at Jack. This drives Jack into frenzy, and fans are urged not to continue to insult this fine manager of champions.

TV Champion Luscious Larry (accompanied by Dandy Jack) met Romen McKain in a non-title match. McKain gave Larry all he could handle early on. However, the Luscious One was up to the challenge, throwing McKain off a top turnbuckle and getting help from Jack (i.e. Jack’s cane), got the pinfall.

The Assassin (accompanied by the notorious Eddie G and Southern Cal Val) met Jon Bryson. Bryson is a newcomer to the AWF, but he is well known in the Mobile-Pensacola area, and made a strong impression on AWF fans in his first appearance in Chipley. Bryson was able to hold his own with the veteran Assassin despite constant interference by Eddie G. The match was a close one until the Assassin used a mysterious powder and brass knucks to knock out the referee. Senior Referee Montell Mitchell ran in to make the three count to give the Assassin the win.

Mr. Fantasy had his hands full against the maniacal and increasingly unpredictable Curtis LeRoy (accompanied by Dandy Jack and HellKat). Fantasy every dirty trick in the book, including a street sign, but LeRoy shook off his attacks and took the battle to Fantasy, much to the delight of the fans. The match ended after LeRoy saved Sexy Samantha from being hit by the street sign, Aeon Flexx ran in to help beat down LeRoy, the AWF champion delivered the Flexxcapacitor, and helped hold LeRoy in place as Fantasy got the pin.

Flexx should have saved some energy for his non-title match with Ronnie Fargo (accompanied by Valerie Velvet), because Fargo gave Flexx his toughest match yet in the AWF. Flexx worked on Fargo’s bad left knee, but the popular junior heavyweight champ stormed back and got the win by rolling up Flexx from behind while the Canadian heel was distracted. Mr. Fantasy was on hand again, and after delivering a not well-received kiss to Valerie Velvet, knocked the lovely valet down. Fargo cleaned house, and it looks like Flexx has a very, very serious challenge for his AWF belt.

The main event was “The Confederate Connection” of Road Dogg Jesse James and popular Confederate Kid in a non-title match against The Daltons (accompanied by Renee). There was much verbal sparring before the match and plenty of action in the ring, as the Daltons bad-mouthed fans, stalled and ran when they were in trouble, and doubled up on Confederate Kid for most of the match. It was a different story when seven-time world tag team Champion Road Dogg hit the ring, and when his Doggie Style hit, the Confederate Connection had the win. After the match, Road Dogg laid down the challenge: “Hey cowgirls, next time we take the belts”!

Next card is planned for Saturday, August 2 at Roulhac Community Center in Chipley at 8 p.m.
