Disjointed Ramblings

Hey Fellow fans of the Squared Circle. Once again, I, your friendly neighborhood roving reporter, would like to take a few minutes to dorp a little knowledge on ya. The month of February was, in the words of my good friend MaBo, "Off the pony, like Rice-a-Roni." We saw the Debut of Icarus in the APW, and in the GCW. We saw Kid Flash SET HIMSELF ON FIRE!!!! in the EOW, and we saw the Incomperable Maddog Dan Sawyer, turn his back on the fans and Join with the new GCW commissioner Mr. Mike Powers (Yep, Call him Mr.) I want to point out something. If you read the message boards with any frequency, you realize myself, MaBo and "SS" Sydney Hinton, are probably the 3 biggest Marks in the State. That being said, COME ON PEOPLE LETS LIGHT THIS THING UP!!!! If you have a guy you want to see at a Show, GET ON THE BOARDS AND LET THE PROMOTERS KNOW!! Icarus posted something a few months ago about wanting to come to the area and work. Me and the MaBo picked up on that, researched it a little, and WahLah, he's at not only 1 show, but 2 shows. This guy is the Future of Indy wrestling in Alabama (Along with a few others I've seen.) He's young, he's talented, and he is building a fanbase for himself through the Internet. It's the best way for the fans to feel like they are a part of the action. We simply inundated the boards posting messages to "look at this Guy" with links to his site. This is not an exclusive club like the WWE, the promoters need your input, it's how they get you in the building, it's called "Gate or Headcount" and they want it. Now, Kid Flash or Flash Jigglenuts (Shout out to BDG), I gotta say something, YOU ARE FREAKIN NUTS!! I read about guys calling themselves Hard-core this or Extreme that, This Kid SET HIMSELF ON FIRE!!! Not the Kane, One arm wrapped in Nomex- fire suit on fire, He squirted his shirt with Lighter Fluid, lit it, and did a SWANTON BOMB onto Goth. There was no way this was staged, you can't fake burning clothing or the smell of burning hair! Thats an example of a Guy putting it out there for the Fans. I still say "That is Officially the dumbest F**king thing I have ever seen someone do to themselves.", but boy was it COOL! Hats off to Flash. You can see him and Big Daddy Goth at the next APW show on the 15th of March. And finally, the MADDOG makes his return to the ways of the Darkside. GCW Commissioner Mr. (Please show the man some respect) Mike powers, somehow convinced the MADDOG and the Night Prowler, to put aside past grievances and ally themselves with him. What does it mean to the rest of the GCW superstars? I'm not sure, but for ME...It means FUN TIMES AHEAD!!! Mr. Powers, you are THE MAN! Vinny V, shine that belt up real nice, cause the prowlers gonna come to claim it at the next show. Ya gotta give it to the Commish, he booked one hell of a show. Icarus Vs. The INhuman Fly, Sweet Daddy Vs. Scotty Riggs, 3 way dance for the Tag titles, Sinister Vs. The Dragon (Hair Vs. Mask) and the 2k3 Battle Bowl. You don't get that kind of action on WWE pay- per-view. We saw a title change, an unmasking, The BAD side of the MADDOG, and the crowning of a new GCW heavyweight Champion in one "Vinny V." Truly a night to remember and a difficult show to top. But, if anyone can do it, the GCW can! On a side note... I personally witnessed something that reinforces my belief that MADDOG Dan Sawyer, is far and away, one of the most Professional, Humorous, and Forgiving men in the Business. If I can get his permission (And I doubt it), I may tell you about it in my next column. Until next time, Keep both hands on the wheel, at least until you get to the Venue.
