Premature baby:Used to describe a baby born at less than 35 weeks gestation. Also known as Preemies.
Post-Premature Babies:Used to describe a preemie that nobody wants so it has to be adopted later in life. Generally, they grow up to be deformed and/or mangled. Also known as POMIES!!!!!!!!!
Hey!....it's Liz and Allison. We met in Biology class last year. Now, one year later, we have rejoined in Mrs.Brajuha's(Deftones fan extaordinaire)Spanish 3 class. If it wasn't for us, there would be no such thing as pomies....well, because of the name.
One crazy, really late, spring break night, we were playing Yahtzee when the greatest show known to man appeared before our eyes, "Preemies:The Struggle For Survival". Being that Allison was so extremely tired, she declared "I want a Preemie!!" So, Liz told her to adopt one. And that's when they came up with the great idea of Pomies. They decided that the preemies that no one wanted were put up for adoption, and were there for Allison and other people to get. We decided that, since no one would even want to adopt too many of them, they would not be preemies anymore, but be labeled Post-premature babies. Allison, following the shortened Premature babies = Preemies, called them Pomies. We laughed for the longest time. And that, my friends, is how the glory of POMIES began.
