The Kremlin is not only the government headquarters but also a large fortified area, surrounded by high walls and containing several churches, palaces and museums.
The Armoury museum is the one that offers the greatest variety of exhibits, having not just armour but a sumptuous collection of costumes, objets d'art in gold, silver and precious stones and an outstanding collection of carriages, each one a work of art in itself.
The picture shows one of its fine display of Tiffany eggs which were presented to various notabilities, mainly in the nineteenth century. This one was given to the president of the Trans Siberian Railway when it was inaugurated just over one hundred years ago.
