 | The Winter Palace in the centre of the city is now the home of one of the world's greatest museums and art galleries, known as The Hermitage. The casual tourist will be allowed two or three hours to wander around this place; it would need two or three months to do it justice. They say the wintertime is best for visiting this place as during the summer it is heaving with tourists. I can vouch for that. After three hours we came out exhausted.
