The authorities in India and Nepal have now latched on to the fact that having spent a fortune, in their terms, in order to visit these places, they can charge you even more to enter the sites you have travelled thousands of miles to see.
Seven pounds may not seem exhorbitant by our standards but it is over half a week's wages to an Indian. (They can go in for 50p ).
Not all places have gone this way yet but it won't be long before they do so.
