The gardens are a tribute to the Dutch bulb growing industry which supplies the world with millions of bulbs which are reared in the fields which stretch for miles around. The floats for the flower festival are decorated with the heads of these flowers which are removed to encourage growth in the bulbs before they are collected and packed for world wide distribution. |
