 | The reason for this anomaly is because these animals are considered sacred in Gambia and are here kept like pampered pets. Crocodiles are considered fertility symbols and are visited by young ladies who find difficulty in becoming pregnant. Our visit was of a rather more mundane nature, just wanting a few pictures to put in the holiday album. |
