Karen's Dandy Life

4-23-2004

So yesterday was single-handedly one of the most exciting days in my life. Or at least one of the most exciting days in recent months. Why you ask? Well, see, yesterday was The Rock Project concert held at the President's Lawn here at Auburn University, and being that i am a member of the University Program Council (hereby known as UPC), I had the priveledge of working on the concert. Cool, i know. So anyway my real job wasn't all that exciting. I worked on the Sister Hazel hospitality team, which sounds like it would be cool and involved, but really all i had to do was shop for their food and put it on a table in the hospitality tent. So needless to say that was all done before the bands even arrived. Bummer right? Well not so much because after my classes ended at 2, i decided head back up to the venue and just hang out in case anything needed to be done. Smartest decision i have ever made cuz when i got up there they needed a runner's assistant. Runner's are the cool people who are allowed to drive the bands and tech crews places they need to go, and a runner's assistant just sits shotgun and makes sure the driver isnt bored. So its a really easy job and has tremendous benefits. Usually runner's do boring things like picking up extra food that's needed or driving sound people to various places but i had the privledge of taking Mr. Gavin DeGraw (yes THE Gavin DeGraw, the really cute singer of the One Tree Hill themesong, as well as super nice guy) his camera AND getting a picture taken with him by a newspaper person. Thats right, MY PICTURE WITH GAVIN DEGRAW MAY BE IN A NEWSPAPER!!! Yay!! More importantly i got to sit in a car with a semi-famous musician for 10 minutes and talk to him! Well, we all know I didnt say much cuz i hardly ever talk anyway, and especially not when it comes to talking to musicians (Jenna and Ash know what i mean!) but I did get to listen to him talk about being on past tours with Jason Mraz and Sister Hazel and about what kind of weather he likes best and other things that you don't normally get to talk to singers about when you talk to them at Meet and Greets. Anyway Gavin was super nice and thanked us for driving him around and all. Then later i went with Justin (a fellow JLC loving UPC member) to pick up two members of Gavins' band. They were really nice too and were telling us how Alabama is so much differnet then New York and were asking us what year we were and cool stuff like that.

The concert itself was awesome. Ingram Hill played first and were really fun to watch. They like to jump around a lot, especially Phil the bass player. i swear i thought he was gonna make himslef dizzy with all the spinning he did. We got to meet them after the show and they were super nice too. They signed my frisbee and all. Then Gavin played and he was phenomenal. One of my favorites now. He played all his hits and even did a cover of Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get it On." That was hilarious. Ash and i sat in a hella long line full of screaming fangirls who were so fucking rude, just so we could get autographs on our newly purchased CDs. It wouldnt have been annoying had we not been first in line but gotten pushed out of the way by fangirls who just HAD to get pics with Gavin as quickly as possible. "Oh my God Gavin is so hot!", "Get out of my way i need to see my husband!", and "Push (insert name here), we are better fans then they are" were just a few of the various things being shouted in my ear. Its like all i want is a damn autograph, can you wait the 20 seconds that will take? We eventually got ones but still it took forever.

Anyway then Sister Hazel played and they were great as usual. That was my fourth time seeing them and they were as good as they always are. Ryan can play a mean guitar. i love just watching him play. And they gave him planty of opportunities too, especially since they did a few covers that had nice guitar solos in them. I know they played "Proud Mary" and then some Sting or Police song that i can't remember the name too. The highlight was getting to meet the band after the show. Even though this was my fourth time seeing them, it was my first time meeting them. I got all their autographs except for Andrew's because he was only at the fence for like 5 minutes and never came by me. But i did get a chance to talk to Ken. He was signing my CD cover and asked me if i enjoyed the show, so i was like "Yea this was actually my fourth time seeing y'all and you were awesome. Actually the first time i saw you i was 13." And Ken got a shocked look on his face and was like "How old are you now!?" and when I told him i was 19 he was like "Oh my God" and then he had to call Jeff over to tell him what i had said, and Jeff told me that the funny thing was, he was 13 at that show too! They are way too funny.

But that was pretty much it. Exciting day though huh? Definatelyranks high on hte best concert experiences ever, as well as the best day ever list. And next weekend im planning (fingers crossed!) to go to Music Midtown so i will get top see gavin again as well as other great bands such as Trapt, The Strokes, Jason Mraz, and Journey! So maybe i'll actually update twice within a 6 month period. You're shocked aren't you? Well i can't make any promises but we'll see how it goes... Rock on

I've decided to stop lying to you. I never update this page and really won't ever update it on a regular basis like I keep saying I will. Anyway just thought I'd clarify that for the millions of people just waiting for me to update the page (ha... funny because I don't think anybody reads this anymore). So How is everyone in the internet world? Me? Oh I'm just dandy. I actually had no intention of updating this tonight or ever for that matter but I just stumbled across my site in my favorite places and thought I'd come check and see if it was still up. It seems that Jenna doesn't work on the site anymore and it's just been me for the last year and a half so thats why the site hasn't been updated in forever and a year. Really I should be working on my AP English paper I have to write but I don't really care that much about it anymore. I mean I got into my college (Auburn) so who cares?? But I am getting college credit for it so i suppose i have to at least pretend to care. Well have no desire to write on so I'm gonna go. TTYL

7-19-02

Hey. I haven't written in a long time but i have been updating the rest of the site periodically so i haven't forgotten about it all together. I also have created a site that is devoted to this band i like called Wayne. They are from Alabama and finally got signed to a major label and put out a recrod so i decided to help spread their goodness and create a site about them. Technically its really just a section on this site devoted to them because its at the same address and all but who wants to get technical? Tomorrow i leave to go visit Jenna in sunny CA. Exciting except for the whole flying on a plane thing. Yea my fear of flying just started not too long ago and i don't know why. Its not really a fear of flying but a fear of not having two feet on the ground. Ya know how when the plane takes off and banks to one direction to get out of the way of other planes taking off? Thats what scares me. It is the single most scary feeling in the world...i think. Anyway so whats been happening in my life you ask? Well hmmm on the concert front i went to Pointfest in May (a fest put on by a local radio station) which was a lot of fun. I saw the Lost Prophets who are an english punk type band and very good. Hot lead singer named Ian who i got an autogragh from!! (Thanks for making me get it Alyssa). Also saw Hoobastank who were by far one of the best bands i've ever seen. Very energetic and even let a kid come up to sing one of their songs which was cool (the kid was also REALLY good). The big highlight of the night was Our Lady Peace who i finally got to see after they cancelled two other times i was suppose to see them. They were OMG good. Like i could have cried good. Like favorite song on the radio good (ha im mimicking that Yoplait yogurt commercial with the two girls who talk about how good the yogurt is, see?). Anyway they were awesome and became my new favorite band (although J,LC is still a major favorite...OLP is more of a temporary fave.) Saw others too but those were the best. Went to the beach last week which was alot of fun. Going to Alabama the day after i get back from CA so i'm going to have been traveling a whole bunch. School starts in like 3 weeks unfortunately but i'll be a SENIOR and am only taking four classes so i get to leave school early. YEA! Anyway gotta finish packing and i promise that i'll try to make this more interesting next time i write, k?

5-20

Hola everyone. Things are just going downhill aren't they... i say im gonna update the page more and then i end up not updating it for two months. It's been very exciting here in Karen's Life. Im moving to St. Louis in July which will be cool
A) because there are more concerts
B)Because Jenna is moving to Cali anyway so she won't be here and well thats all i can think of.
Only 4 days of school left THANK GOD! Let me update you on concert fronts: We went to BNL and they were so good! Very entertaining, my brother loved them. They would make up songs right on the spot ad they did a modpodge of 90's hits as sortof and encore. Then a few weeks after that me, Jenna, Kristine, and Amands went to Everclear, Lifehouse,Matchbox 20. Lifhouse only played for about 25 minutes but they were really good. Everclear hardly played anything off of their newer albums and played mostly stuff off so much for the afterglow. Not that i minded becuse i really like that album. Matchbox 20 was amazing and played a relly good mix of ol and new stuff. I liked that alot. At the end Rob came out out and sang an AWESOME version of TIme After Time. I almost cried it was beautiful because everyone and i mean EVERYONE knew all the words to it. Simply Awesome. Then two weeks ago i guess Kristine, Jenna, me, Chanen and Marissa went up to Nashville for Nashville riverstages. Interesting stuff went down there such as we missed the first 15 minutes of Five For Fighting because we could not get in because we had cameras. So After some thought we decided to hide them in the bushes. So we saw the end of FFF and let me just say that they (or he, i dont know which is really right to say) are amazing! John sang The Last great American as an encore (my FAVORITE SONG!) and during onepart he smiled and pointed at me and Marissa because we were front rw sitting on the ground singing our hearts out. Then afterwords we got to meet John and get stuff signed. Then we saw the end of Crazytown (they suck, dont see them) as we waited for train. Train was their usual wonderful selves even though i only saw about 4 songs thanks to Marissa getting sick (Marissa I AM NOT mad about that!)Then we saw (or listened rather) to the Wallflowers. We were so tired and were so far away at that point (we had been about 5 feet away from the stage)tha we just sat and listened and talked. I was a little dissappointed about that because i love the Wallflowers and worship Jaob Dylan but it was still fun. They did a hilarious (but very good)version of Song 2 by Blur. So thats the concert news. J,LC did not put out their album as planned because their record label was dropped from its mother label but it will be out in the fall hopefully. I plan on seeing the for the 3rd time in June so im happy about that. And Ireland is in 10 days! I'll get those pics up when i get back. Oh and I have pics from my trip to Charleston for Springbreak and i'll get them up soon as well. In other website related news, Jenna and I have become webmasters for the Five For Fighting street team. So when we get the page up and running you must all go check it out. And if you haven't heard of Five For Fighting you must check them ot as well because the are really good. The address to their site is http://sonymusic.com/artists/FiveForFighting/. Go check it out please and i promise you won't be dissappointed. That's it for this updation. Oh and I want to apologize for my typing on this entry because some of the words might be missig letters or be scrunched together: Its my keyboard acting up and for some reason some keys are not working very well. Adios!

2-26

Yo Gina! Wad up? Hey Kristine if you read this I don't mean to copy your phrase!Of course it is on a national commercial so its not really yours but thats beside the point. Anyway how is everyone's life? Mine is fine. Soccer has started so thats cool.Big news is on the concert front. Saw Kenny Wayne Shepard a while back. Really good guitar player but after a while all his solos sound alike. Still very good though. A local band called 5 oclock Charlie played with KWS and they were really good. And not to sound obsessive but the bass player looked almost exactly like Matt B. Not exactly but very close. Same hair and face and everything. My next concert is Barenaked Ladies with Chantel something-or-another. Im taking my bro because it'll be his bday present from me and it'll be his first concert. Hes excited. Im excited too, cuz i mean come on, its BNL. As long as they play some old faves like If I had a Million Dollars. That is a great song. But the concert I am looking the most forward to is the Lifehouse, Everclear and Matchbox 20 concert in Nashville in April. I can't believe we actually got tickets! We are pretty far away but according to Kristine close enough to actually be able to see people on stage. But i don't care. I'm just happy i get to go. The B'ham concert sold out in like 4 hours. I can't wait to go! Im gonna be in debt because of all my concerts but thats ok with me. Its for my cultural experiences. Then in May is MusicMaynia which they are having this year. No bands have been announced yet but im praying that JLC will come. See because their new album comes out hopefully May 8 and MusicMaynia is May 11,12,13. So it would be like right after their album comes out. It would be so cool. But i'll live if they dont come, just so long as someone else good comes.I don't care. But i gotta go go now so babye!

1-18

Heylo everyone!!! I didn't die or anything, im still here....I just haven't written in a while. How was everyone's Holidays? Mine was fine. I got a CD changer for my car and the coolest slippers. They are soccerballs. So cool. Anyway Ashley left for Ireland the day after Christmas. It was sad. Jenna and I went to the airport to say goodbye and we gave her these letters we had written her. Then I went up to Maryland. I was gonna go see Pat McGee and Howie Day in concert while I was up there, but the tix were all sold out by the time I called to get them. It was sad. Then my grandmothers computer was so slow that I couldnt watch the webcast of Dockstreet 2000 because it would shut the computer down. I was depressed. But its ok i lived. Im in computer programming now so i have to go because the bells gonna ring. But i will finish this later.

12-02

Well how are all you people out on the highway doing? Its been a long time since ive written in hasnt it? Did you miss me? Oh i know you did... So today I woke up and I feel like crap. My head is stuffed, I have a headache, and I cant breathe. So its been a good day. I was sitting here eating me some sweet and sour chicken from Golden China (thank you Richard's family for this wonderful restaurant.. i feel better already)and I remembered that I had quite a bit to tell you all. Where to start, where to start... Sunday sounds good. Sunday was the long anticipated Creed/Finger Eleven/Sevendust concert to which me and my friends payed way to much money to get tickets. But it was a good show. Finger Eleven was very exciting manly cuz i knew 4 of their songs. But they did not play my favorite one (Sick of it all-listen to it sometime!). But they still rocked. Then Sevendust played and they are quite scary. In a good way though..I mean they are awesome live but the guys in the band are well, interesting. I dont really like there music that much but i must say i did enjoy them. But my favorite part of the night was Creed of course. I mean we were pretty close (like 10 feet maybe back) and the guys in the band are quite lovely. The only majorly dissappointing thing was that Scott Stapp was NOT wearing leather pants. And I had been so looking forward to it. But they did have a new bass player who was wearing leather pants and almost looked better than Scott in them. And the neat thing about the bass player was that he is from B'ham and he happens to be the lead singer of the band (Virgos Merlot) that sing this song I really like. Pretty exciting. Oh and the other thing was that Mark was on the other side of the stage so I couldnt see his awesome guitar solos that well but I imagined they looked wonderful. I have come to the conclusion that Creed is one of the sexiest bands in rock and roll. Well them and JLC of course. Speaking of JLC I am watching a live webcam they have in their studio right now. Nothing is happening but im watching just in case Matt happens to come on screen. Sad isnt it? Oh but don't you worry because you too can watch Jump live in the studio. To stalk them, just press the word stalk. Its so easy its sad. Oh and as if I havent been to enough concerts already (31 and counting)I am also going to one in 16 days. Its Fastball, the Baha Men, and someone else not nmaed yet. I like fastball but they arent my fave and I hate the Baha Men but basically im just going because the tickets were free and Im hopeing that the other bands they bring are good ones. Like Lifehouse or Good Charlotte or Five for Fighting or Peter Searcy or even JLC. HaHa yea right. Did you know that today is Jimi HaHa's birthday? He's from Jimmie's Chicken Shack. Doesnt he have the coolest name? I wish I had a name like that. Anyway I must go and lie down because the room is starting to spin....

11-6

Wow talk about not updating for a while. And i have so much to tell. Halloween came and went. Its my favorite holiday but i didnt get to dress up this year. Not that Im gonna complain TOO much... I went to the Halloween Scream 2000 Concert instead. Yea it was great. Jenna and I were like the only ones who knew any of Dexter Freebish's music. Every song baby! Me and Jenna sang every song. Well except one but it was one thats not on their album. Anyway we felt so stupid because we forgot to bring our CD's with us so we could get them signed. We didn't think we'd get to meet them afterwards but we did. They were super sweet and we got pics taken with them. Check out 35 mm for those pics. My favorite is of me and Chris. I had these cokes in my hands cuz Jenna had the camera and he took them out of my hand and held them next to our heads for the picture. Its so cute. Really I was thinking about asking Coca-Cola if they'd want to use it as an ad campaign. I mean seriously I wouldn't mine. But I liked Charles too cuz he liked my shirt. That was cool. Anyway Stroke 9 played too but I didn't really watch them much. But they sang "Letters" and Nasty Litle Thoughts" and "Little Black Backpack". They did a good job on those. I swear they played "Little Black Backpack" for ten minutes. Every time you would think the song was over they would start singing again! Sister Hazel was also good. It was the second time I'd seen them (they were my first concert way back when three years ago) but this time was better cuz I knew all the songs. They asked how many people had their new album and only 4 or 5 people screamed or whatever that they had it and I was one of them. I felt bad that no one else had it. Oh well I sang my heart out. Marissa and I tried to lose our voices and I actually did lose mine for about ten minutes but it came back. Exactly one week from tomorrow until my B-day. Im so excited! And next weekend Im going to Atlanta and I get to see my bestest friend Cara (her bday is the same day as mine)and Im so excited. Its been like a year and a half since ive seen her. Yea Yea Yea!! And when we were like twelve we planned that we would get together on our 16th birthdays and have a huge party with all our friends. And so we wont have all our friends there but at least part of our dream can sorta happen. Oh how sad to remember the past. I was gonna write this big long speel (sp?) on mean people and why I dislike them so because of something that happened in school but Im sure that will bore you all more. Of course I dont think anyone really even reads this but Oh well. By the way Ashley Love got AOL so if you know her or just want to talk to someone (believe me she'll talk if you bring up JLC or Evan!) then IM her. Her SN is all2003. She'll probably be mad at me for giving it out but O well. Oh and if you wanna IM me its Bugs1114. Or Soccerstar3002 but I don't use that one much.Oh did anyone notice that I changed the name of this page? Instead of Karen's Life, its Karen's Dandy Life. I had to give props to my favorite Collective Soul song. Its a good song sung by Ross instead of Ed. Very good. I worked a bit on the JLC page but it still has no links to it. But I promise I will have it up and running in some form by this weekend. I promise. I promise, I promise. Let's see I believe thats all of even remote interest that's happened to me lately. I wont bore the few of you that read this any longer so I shall say Adieu and leave you all. BTW does Adieu even mean goodbye or whatever? Im not good in the language department I just know that people use it often. I dont even know if I spelled it right. So whatever it means, Im going to bed.

10-23

Ok it's been a while since Ive updated so let me first start off with the "countdown": 7 days until the Dexter Freebish/Sister Hazel/Stroke 9 concert (I'm going, YEA!!) and until the Lifehouse CD comes out; 8 Days until Marissa's 16th Birthday; 22 days until my 16th Birthday (YEA). Ok so let me tell you about how I ended up getting tix to the Dexter Freebish concert.... Its a free concert so there are basically three ways to win tickets (1)Win them from the radio station sponsoring the concert which I DONT LISTEN TOO! (2)Win them over the internet in a drawing (3) Have really nice friends win tickets and invite you to go with them. So basically I was screwed... there was no way that I was gonna get tickets. But my wonderful Mom entered the drawing along with me over the internet, and since her luck is better than mine, won the tickets. So I get to go along with one friend. Which presents a problem since I have two friends that I do EVERYTHING with. So one of them must be left out. And Ive decided who Im taking but I dont think I'm gonna tell you guys. you dont need to know everything do you? Ok so what else happened... Oh Oh! Im going to the doctor on Thursday for my knee (imagine me jumping up and down in excitement right now). No really I am glad... my knee HURTS!!! And we got our yearbooks FINALLY!! I was so tired of waiting. They are huge but very interesting. We had an hour lunch on Friday so we all sat in the Courtyard signing each others books. I don't think I even ate my lunch. It was only a peanut butter sandwich anyway so no big deal. Anyway Marissa and Chanen started a website which is so very cool. Now they can enter the "I understand the internet and am cool just like Karen and Jenna because I followed their brilliant idea and startd a website" club. Ha ha. Oh and Ashley and I have started another webpage. Its called a Sip of Pink Lemonade and it is strictly a Jump, Little Children page. Its gonna be cool but right now all it has is a under construction page. But go look at it cuz it has a pic on it. Its addy is WWW.angelfire.com/al3/Jumplittlechildren. Make sure you type it EXACTLY like that. Capitol J and then all lowercase. I know its confusing but you'll have to deal with it. Sunday I went to a Broadway Theatre League production of Man of La Mancha. It was very good. I felt so thespianish because I was wearing black jeans and black shoes and a black tank top with a sheer jacket over it that had maroon flowers on it and really dark nail polish and I had my hair pulled half back and it was all curly like. I felt like I should have gotton up and recited some poetry like The Raven or something. It was a nice feeling.Well I believe that is all the remotely interesting stuff that happened in the past week or two. Have fun and goodbye. O and I got the Rolling Stone with my Jakob on it!!

10-14

Exactly one month until my Birthday!! Yea. Arent you all happy? I hope you all are shopping for my presents. Anyway Tuesday I went out and got the new Wallflowers cd and the new Collective Soul one. They are pretty good (well of course because the bands are just awesome so they must be good cd's). Anyway Jakob Dylan is supposed to be on the cover of Rolling Stone so i went looking for it but no one had it! They all had the issue with Kate Hudson on the cover. So last night when I was at Jenna's i got to see it because her brother had it. I was spastic. I love Jakob! Then when we went to rent movies (Final Destination, The Shining and But im a Cheerleader!) I saw it at movie gallery and I was so excited. The guy at the counter had to remind me that it was only a magazine. But how can you blame me for overreacting? Its Jakob Dylan, peoples! The movies were very good. Final Destination was so scary! Its about a plane crash and well Its hard to explain but you must see it. Oh and Marissa I apologize for talking through the whole movie... I was scared and talking made me feel better. I don't always do that. Anyway the movie made us so scared that we decided that the Shining would be to scary to watch so we watched But Im a Cheerleader! That is a funny movie. Its about this cheerleader who gets sent to this camp sorta thing because her parents think shes a lesbian. The movie itself is funny just because of the plot but it was really funny because Jenna's man Eddie Cibrian (Passions, Third Watch)was in it and he played this gay guy. He was wearing these REALLY short shorts that did absolutely nothing for him. And he had this scene with a broom and..ugh.. I dont think i'll ever be able to look at him again without envisioning that. It was emotionally disturbing. Im scarred for life. Wow I only came on to write a short little note but this has ended up really long. Tonight I went to the Haunted Forrest (insert scary movie music here). It was this hayride that took you through these woods were people jumped out at you and a guy with a chainsaw chased the wagon and Jason and Michael Myers were running about. It was mildly entertaining. More funny then scary. But it was entertainment so thats cool. I would rather have been in Atlanta drooling over Matt at the J,LC concert. But we (meaning me, Ashley, and Jenna) didn't have anyone willing to take us. So we must wait 6 months until their new cd comes out and they go on tour again to see them. And then we must pray that they come to Huntsville. I don't know if I will be able to survive. In the meantime Ashley and I are going to attempt to put up a J,LC webpage. But we need a cute name for it. Ashley thought we could call it "A sip of Pink Lemonade." Named of course for the song Pink Lemonade which is single handedly one of the best songs on the planet. I think that is just the neatest title anyone could have thought of. I hope you all agree. Or if you have a better idea email me at Bugs1114@aol.com. In fact i think I may start on that webpage right now. And don't worry, I won't neglect this site. I have put to much time and energy into this thing to just ignore it. But i promise you that our J,LC page will be the best one on the web. Well maybe second best since their site (www.jumplittlechildren.com) is the best. I guess it would have to be since...well.. its updated by the band itself (mainly by Matt). Ok well its late (11:43 CST) and I must get up early tomorrow, so i think i may go snuggle up in my bed, put on Magazine and attempt to fall asleep. So I will try to update this on Tuesday since hopefully by then there will be something to update it with. Tootles.

10-3

Finally I have time to finish my Big Spring Jam updation. Where was I... O Friday night. Let's see I forgot to tell you something that happened at Leeann Womack. When we were made to sit down and there was no room, the funniest thing happened. Ashley said something which in the middle of a concert sounded like "mifutznum." I can't remember exactly who thought that's what she said but none the less it was very funny. I guess it's one of those "you have to be there type thingies." I'm nt gonna go into detial about Saturday and Sunday because i don't want to repeat anything Jenna has already said. Saturday night we went to Ashley's house where Jenna magically turned into Blanket Woman...Hear me growl..Grr.. hopefully I can talk her into letting me put up the picture of Blanket Woman on the site but im not promising anything. Saturday we got up bright and early (11:00) so we could get ready for day 2. We went to see loveless Crown (gotta support local bands) because they went to Grissom which is cool. They actually had good songs and i would have bought a cd but im not sure if they actually had any. Anyway so next the Getaway People were supposed to play whom i was dying to see because I know every single word to "Six Pacs" even the very beginning rapish part. But they didn't play which upset me tremendously. So instead I entertained everyone with my rendition of "Six Pacs." I think I did a very good job at that. Anyway so we went to go check out the ZYP stage and this band from birmingham called Mars Electric was playing. They reminded me of marvelous 3 alot i guess because the lead singer looked like him and even acted sorta like him on satge. I wanted to stay and watch them but jenna and Chanen and Ashley wanted to see Plumb. So we split up. I was with Mattie and Marissa and Gina. We got the band to sign our free stickers and would't you know but one of the guys in the band started hitting on Gina. It was quite funnybecause he was like "you're cute" and she went "so are you !" and walked away. It was hilarious. So then i met up with Jenna and the gang at plumb who turned out to be better then i thought. So we then decided to get in line for the 3 Doors Down signing which was a very smart idea because we ended up 6th in line. The band ended up being brought in between me and Jenna. They were so close to us! And let me say they are much cuter in person. They were cool. They signed our CD's and let us get pics of them (visit 35 mm to see). they6 were just really sweet guys. So we pushed our ways up front to get a good range to see and take pics. We watched Cracker and althought they didn't play the one song I knew by them they did play Euro trash girl and Low which are just really neat songs. Then it was 3 Doors Down's turn. Oh but before 3DD came on stage Chris and Dee Dee announced that Dexter Freebish and Sister Hazel and Stroke 9 were coming to the VBC on Halloween. I was dying because I love Dexter Freebish and Sister Hazel (Ive already seen SH before in concert and they are good) So it was good. But 3 Doors Down was awesome. They almost didn't play "Smack" which is definately one of my favorite songs. But they played it as an encore. I was singing it as loud as i possibly could (my voice was pretty much gone by then) and people kept looking at me like i was on something. Sunday night was the BEST though!! my favorite band in the entire universe (except the wallflowers of course)played. They're called Jump, Little Children and they ROCK!! Anyway we trie to get up front but there were chairs and Destiny's Child fans all over. So we got close but not as close as i would have liked. JLC does there own soundchecks so we stook some pics of them warming up. It was funny cuz we were like " O my god theres Ward! and Matt's got his pink guitar! Ive never seen Evan this close before!" and everyone around us was like "umm they are soundcheck guys and im like "Ah but they aren't" It made me mad because nobody knew who they were! Everyone was there to get goos Destiny's Child spots and completely dissed my band. But anyway i haven't gotten to the best part yet. We got to meet them at the signing they had afterwards (read Jenna's journal for most of this story). Anyway when Angie was spazzing to them she asked Matt if I could have his hat (It was cute and i really really wanted it!!) but it was Jay's and Jay wouldn't part with it. So then we got pics with all of them. That was nice. Ward had his arm around my shoulder (I know im so lucky!) Then we had to leave but we walked around with mattie trying to find Marissa and Gina and we also sorta stalked JLC. Not really it just so happened that we were going in the same direction. Anyway that was my wonderful weekend. Can't wait til May for Music Maynia which will be just as cool!

Last weekend was the most fun i've had in a long time! It was the Big Spring Jam, which if you have'nt already noticed ive been talking about constantly. Anyway i'll start from the beginning... Friday we got there a few minutes after it opened. We really didn't have anyone we wanted to see until 8:00 when Brother Cane was supposed to play, so we just walked around. We found Nikki and Emilie by the karaoke stage so we decided to hang around with them. We ended up not seeing Brother Cane because they started late and we had to go see Leann Womack. Leann was great except these rude people behind us made us sit down instead of standing. There was hardly any room for us to sit so we had to sit on our feet and on each other basically. it wasn't fun. Plus the grass was all wet. Then after Leann, we went over to watch Cheap Trick because they sing this awesome song called I Want you to Want Me. Its very cool but by the time we got there they had already played it so we just decided to sit down and talk. Well im at school and im not supposed to be on here so i cant write more at the moment but i'll write more about my weekend when i get home. Believe me, I havent even gotton to the best part yet!!!

Ok So I'm of to a bad start already! I am awful at updating this page. But don't worry... only one major thing happened this week. I was coming home from school Thursday and on the way my mom was like "we got you a car." I was dying! Its so cute too. Its a 93 blue Saturn so it's not new or anything but it's still awesome! I've driven it quite a few times since then and it's so nice! Much easier to drive then my mom's van or my dad's truck. Hmm.. let's see what else did i do this week? Oh they finally updated the Big Spring Jam site thanks to me! Well sorta thanks to me. I was mad and wrote them a letter about how they needed to update it and they did! Anyway the whole point in telling you that is because its in 12 days, 20 hours and 30 minutes!! And they added some people to the list! Like Blessed Union of Souls, who was supposed to play last year but ended up cancelling! So that's cool. And i found out that the Getaway People play at 3 so i can still see them before my soccer game! How cool is that??

Hi! I finally decided to get this page started. I've been putting it off until school started and that day finally came. Unfortunately. No really it wasnt that bad at all. But who wants to hear about school when we could be talking about interesting stuff?

Ok on to a better subject. This week I found out some people who are coming to the Big Spring Jam. My Matt is coming back with his band Jump, Little Children! Check out my idols page for info on my man. Im so excited that I get to see them again! But guess who else is coming? Yes, Ladies and Gents, 3 Doors Down, another one of my fav bands. That is gonna be some concert! Argh, i wish September would come soon!!! Should I mention that the hot English guys in The Getaway People are coming too? If you havent heard of The Getaway People and JLC, then then you are a poor deprived person who hasnt heard great music. Damn you, check them out! Thats an order.

Since we are on the subject of music I guess i'll tell you about my latest concert adventure. Friday night I saw Better Than Ezra at UAH. They rocked!! They were so cool though because they got up there and talked to us and it was awesome. They let this guy from the audience play guitar on one of their songs and they had a dance contest which was hilarious! If you've never seen them in concert, Id highly urge you to go. The concert would have been perfect if it hadnt been for a few few friends of mine who once again ruined my concert experience. Im not gonna go into detail though I'll just say that their names start with an "M" and a "C". You know who you are.

Welp thats it for tonight. Check back later when hopefully i'll have a more interesting story to tell you all. Byeba
