50g (2oz) crustless white bread. 1 small onion, pealed and quartered. 100g (4oz) Cheddar cheese, cubed. 350g (12oz) stewing beef, diced. 5ml (1tsp) salt. Freshly ground black pepper. 1 size 3 egg. 4 soft baps. Tomato and cucumber to garnish.
Break the bread into pieces and place in processor bowl and chop finely. Add the onion, cheese and meat and chop coarsely. Add the seasoning and egg and process until combined. Shape into four burgers and cook under hot grill for 15 minutes, turning once. Split each bap and fill with a Cheddarburger. Garnish with tomato and cucumber slices and serve.
