Squall Leonhart

Squall Leonhart is a character we can all identify with, whether we want to or not. He's a moody, inwardly conflicted teenager who just wants to get through life without the interferance of others. Enter an uprising that will change his entire outlook. When we first meet Squall, he's just had a training incident and is in the infirmary. This begins your association with him, and also displays something that most games will only show of the main character after hours of gameplay...a weakness. Squall is not my favorite character in the game, I'll admit that, but he's third overall mostly in part because it's difficult to get to know him. He won't let anyone near him at first, and that actually includes the gamer, he's very cool and rather emotionless, on the outside. Inside he's a tornado of mixed feelings which comes to light the longer you play. All in all, he may not be my favorite, but he's certainly up there with identifiability and perhaps the Final Fantasy hero we can all identify with the most.

Limit Skills

Rough Divide
Rough Divide targets only one enemy, but can do enough damage to KO weaker opponents. This limit is exceptionally useful at the beginning of the game and if you can get Squall's HP down while fighting Ifrit in the Fire Cave, you can usually wait until the last few seconds to finish him off, which in turn gives you more points toward a higher SeeD ranking after the Dollet Invasion.
Fated Circle
This limit skill attacks all enemies present and is substantial enough to kill off weaker groups. It's especially nice while fighting Grats in the Training Center and will usually finish off a group of three.
Blasting Zone
Another great group attack, Blasting Zone hits for more force than Fated Circle and is the one you'll achieve most often once obtained. It works well against random encounters and bosses and will usually take off a decent amount of damage.
Lion Heart
Final Fantasy gamers of the world rejoice, Lion Heart not only breaks the 9999 barrier, it shatters it. This attack can do as much damage, if not more, than Eden. Combine Eden and Lion Heart, and it's a real treat fighting Ultimecia at the end.
