Eternal Life
The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)Through Jesus Christ we can have a full and wonderful life right now. Jesus said, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)
We can also have eternal life as a gift from God. "The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Rom. 6:23)
However, our sins separate us from God and the life He gives. "For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Rom. 3:23) and "The wages of sin is death." (Rom. 3:23)
But the good news is that God has provided for the forgiveness of our sins. "In whom [Jesus] we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins" (Col. 1:14)
Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of all the world, and He rose from the dead to declare us innocent of all charges. "[Jesus] was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification." (Rom. 4:25)
We simply must choose to receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. "As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." (John 1:12) "If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved." (Rom. 10:9)
Receive Jesus by placing all your trust in Him. Believe on Him by giving Him control of your life. With all of your heart please pray the following prayer:
Dear God, I believe in my heart that Jesus is your Son, that He died on the cross for my sins, and was raised from the dead. Forgive me of all my sins. I turn away from sin, and I now turn to Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I receive you Jesus, come live in my heart. I thank you for saving me and giving me a new life. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Congratulations! If you sincerely prayed that prayer, then you are saved and have eternal life. You are now a child of God!
Just as all children need to grow to be adults, as God's children we must grow by studying God's Word [Holy Bible] and talking with God every day. "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow" (I Peter 2:2) Also attend a good Bible practicing church every Sunday to worship God and fellowship with other believers in Jesus. (Heb. 10:25)
