Precious Life

Lightening, thunder, a crash from down under.
Maddening pain brings on the rain shower.
You stare into deep space with sheer wonder.
Of whom or what will give you the power,
To overcome the numbness of the trial,
The excruciating feelings of life.
Your thoughts becoming incredibly vile.
Fingers caressing the blade of the knife,
The ideas begin brewing of quick suicide.
You look out the window, street lamps are lit,
Brain waves all a scatter, your time you bide.
Eyes closed, you ask, "Is it really worth it?"
You lie on your bed and begin to cry,
Life it too precious to give to the sky.
