Once upon a time in a far away land,
lived a young roo and his merry band,
they played for good and not for wrong,
and in the forrest is where they belonged.
Now the forrest was owned by a charming chap,
who'd allow the young roo to visit, play and nap,
but roo and his band of merry creatures,
were so unaware of Richards family features,
For Richard was to be sent on a evil quest,
made up by his brother as a evil gest.
Now SkippY Roo, known as ROObin hood,
didnt like nasty's for he believed in good,
and with his fair maiden, he had nothing to hide,
she was a outstanding emu with a lovable side,
SkippY's merry creatures were from all walks of life,
none of which seemed to have a wife,
Wonder if thats why they were all called merry,
Dare not question it, could become scarey,
So off on his quest the galant Richard did go,
but what his brother was up to no one did know.
For it seemed John the Dingo had a emu fetish,
and was jealous of SkippY cause his coat was reddish.
Now John the Dingo turns out to be greedy,
for he made life hard for those that were needy,
He raised their taxes with no fare warning,
I guess history does repeat, this is rather daunting.
Now SkippY and the wombat Friar Tuck,
used all their might to create a buck,
to share round those in need of food,
for to make go without, would have been rude,
John the Dingo didn't like this at all,
for if it continued his empire would fall,
so he raised more taxes thinking it cool,
then did as stupid did and acted the fool,
for he put a fine ransom on SkippY's head,
as it be easier to get marion emu, if the little roo was dead.
Then word got around from a carrier cockatoo,
there was to be a archery tounement, and any entrants would do,
the winners prize was to be a certain emu's kiss,
and you can be assured, SkippY Roo wasn't going to miss this,
so he put on the costume of a native bush rat,
wore a fine coat, and a grand little hat,
for he was the best archerer throughout the land,
he new all along he'd have the winning hand,
and that he did when the day came around,
he blitzed the field with a overwhelming bound,
but it was to be another evil trap,
for t'was the roo they wished to kidnap,
but roo was saved by his merry lot,
then off to the forrest they all did flock,
John the Dingo was not at all amused,
so he concocted a plan that couldnt be refused,
he raised the taxes again, so high no one could pay,
so along came the foot soldiers, and locked the town folk away.
Then all of a sudden for no given reason,
they captured Friar Wombat and accussed him of treason,
Little John who was a salt water crocodile,
notified SkippY and they all yarned for a while,
Willy the Koala who was a very quiet chap,
he'd sit in a tree, and take the occassional nap,
today he made it known, of how it seemed so unfare,
I mean to say, just how much can a koala bear.
The decission was made to rescue the Friar,
and into battle they went, with a heart burning desire.
They fought like gallant warriors, with hearts of gold,
like knoble knights did in the days of old.
Some got injured, and some got maimed,
and those that were killed remain un-named,
The quest that they set out on was not a waiste of time,
for they defeated the Dingo with the evil mind,
They returned to the forrest to try and re-coupe,
doing a head count, showed not many were left of the group.
SkippY hopped on a rock to give a brief talk,
he told his creatures, of the path that they walked,
and altho it led them into a grueling fight,
it was not for themselves, but for what is right,
and he asked them to remember, all thats been done and said,
for knights are not made, its in their hearts they are bred.
He told them to despatch and wander the land,
makes lives for themselves, and lend a helping hand,
So they all parted and went their seperate way,
but shared the memory of a gallant battle that day.
As months past by SkippY Roo found a new home,
with lands of plenty for him to roam,
the assorted creatures there, are of the same heart,
So now SkippY Roo, of the Wild Rose is a proud part.
