York City 3 V 2 Torquay Utd
Saturday 11th November, Kick off 3:00pm
Attendance: 2,415
York scored 3 goals in a home match for the first time in nearly two years as they sent Torquay on the long trip home with 0 points.
Torquay opened the scoring in the 31 minute when a penalty was awarded against Mark Setori. Mark Ford stepped up and confidently stroked in the spot kick, sending Super Al Fettis the wrong way.
York didn't let this get to them though and within 2 minutes they were level again.
Lee Bullock smacked a long range volley against the upright and Mcniven was there to pounce on the rebound to keep his excellent season going.
And then soon after that, Hulme playing his last game before suspension tapped in a low Tarrant cross to give York the lead.
This then spured Torquay into life and on the stroke of half time Chalqi, making his football league debut equalised.
The second half was tight, with both sides looking for the winner to move themselves away from relegation.
Iwelumo, signed from Stoke on loan had a couple of chances to grab a winner but it was Hulme with just 2 minuted remaining who jumped the highest to head in a Wayne Hall cross and give York all 3 points.
This was York's 700th home league win in the football league and it lifts them to 19th in Division 3.
