"Everybody, rock your body right, Backstreet's Back alright!! Yeahhhh!!" the five famous Backstreet Boys sang in front of the audience of Miami, Florida. It was the second last tour date of the United States portion of the Millennium tour.
Their last tour date was in Tampa, Florida, their home town. Everyone was happy that the tour was almost over, for they were tired, and they missed being home.
The five guys took a final bow on the stage and then walked off. They ran to the shower room, and all got showered up, and headed back to their hotel for the evening. Early the next morning they were going to head home.
Nick opened his hotel room door, and was greeted with a passionate kiss. "Hey Mandy, how are you doing?" Nick asked as he stopped kissing his girlfriend.
"I'm good baby, you look really tired…" she replied, running her fingers through his wet hair.
"Yeah, I am…" Nick mumbled, while falling onto the bed, and closing his eyes.
"Anyways, Nick, I was packing up your stuff cuz I figured that you were going to be to tired to do it tonight, and then you would want to sleep until we leave tomorrow, and I found this…" she handed him a framed picture.
Nick opened his eyes and looked at it like he had seen a ghost. "I recognize you and Brian and AJ but who are the three girls?" Mandy said, looking at the picture again.
Nick didn't answer. He ran his finger tips over Karine's face, and felt sick in his stomach. His promise. He hadn't talked to her in almost a year.
"Nick? Baby, what's wrong?" Mandy asked him.
"Noth…nothing…" Nick stammered, as he jumped up off of the bed, and ran out of the room. Mandy followed close behind.
Nick pounded his fists on Brian's room, then went to the door next to it, AJ's and pounded hard on that one two. The two guys came to the door at the same time, and looked expectedly at Nick and Mandy.
"What do you want Nick? I was ready to go to sleep!" AJ said, rubbing his eyes.
"Yeah well so was I until Mandy showed me this…" He held up the picture, and Brian and AJ both stared at it almost in shock.
Brian grabbed it out of Nick's hand and stared at it. AJ looked over Brian's shoulder, and stared speechless. "Would someone please tell me who the hell these girls are…" Mandy said quietly, not trying to sound mean.
"Alicia…" Brian said softly, staring at the picture of her.
They were outside, and it was taken right before the hurricane, the one Karine told Nick to take along when they were leaving his house. Nick and Karine were sitting in the tree, and Karine's legs were on top of Nick's lap; Brian and Alicia were leaning against the trunk of the tree; and AJ and Sarah were sitting in front of the tree, and Sarah was sitting in AJ's lap.
"Guys, I haven't called Karine in almost a year!" Nick said, a few tears forming in his eyes when he thought about how she must be handling this. 'She probably hates me now cuz I broke our promise..' Nick thought to himself.
"I know! I haven't talked to Alicia either, and she is my girlfriend!" Brian exclaimed.
"You have a girlfriend?" Mandy asked, looking at Brian.
"Yeah, we have been in love for like 4 years!" Brian leaned against the wall feeling a little disillusioned.
"I haven't talked to Sarah either! Nick, man, what are you going to tell Karine about Mandy?" Nick looked up at him, and almost cried.
"Nick, would you please tell me who this Karine, and Alicia and Sarah girls are!" Mandy said, getting a little angry now.
"Oh Mandy, I'm sorry. All six of us were best friends when we were little. Me and Karine are the same age, and then Sarah is a year older than us, and Alicia is two years younger than Brian. We all lived next door to each other, and we got the record deal with Jive, and they made us go to Europe. So the last night we were there, me and Karine, um…" Nick looked around for someone else to finish.
"Him and Karine were having oral sex, and then me and Sarah made love, once at night, and then once in the shower, and both of us were virgins. But then I broke up with her because I didn't want to have a long distance relationship like Nick and Brian were going to have with Alicia and Karine. So we were on bad terms for about a year, and then we talked for a whole day almost on the phone, and we are just friends again, I guess its better that way…." AJ continued, then looked at Brian, for him to fill in his parts.
"Well basically Alicia and I had this relationship where we were best friends, yet we would make out when we felt like it. I liked her for awhile, but she didn't know. Then she started to like me, and told me that she wanted to try a relationship, so we did, and we were so in love. I can't believe I haven't talked to her or wrote. You know guys I bet they could never get through on our cell phones so they stopped calling us…." Brian said.
"Yeah, thats true. Man, guys what am I going to tell Karine! I promised her!" Nick said sadly.
"What did you promise her?" Mandy asked, her hand still holding his.
"That I would always love her and be with her for the rest of our lives, and now I'm with you, and I love you…" Nick replied, looking into his girlfriends eyes.
"How could you have forgotten about your girlfriend when you asked me out?" Mandy whispered a little upset.
"I dunno, I mean I was really into you and everything and we were fighting at the time…man I'm in for it…"
"Nick, man, she'll understand. Look, lets get some rest and when we go home to Tampa tomorrow, we'll call and invite them to the show…" Brian said, opening the door to his room, and walking inside.
AJ nodded his head, and also went into his room. Mandy pulled on Nick's hand, and lead him back to the room. They never really said anything to each other that night, just went to sleep.
*the next night*
Nick paced nervously around the room while AJ sat playing with his shirt. Brian punched in the last number on the phone, and put it to his ear. It rang three times, and then finally picked up.
"Hello?" a very familiar voice said happily.
"Alicia?" Brian spoke softly.
"Brian?" she said in the same softness, and Brian could here Karine and Sarah in the back round go, "Brian?!"
"Yeah, how are you doing?"
"I'm good. I really miss you. Why didn't you call?"
"I'm so sorry Ali, I just missed you so much, and we were so busy performing every night, and I just never had the time. But I thought about you all of the time…"
"Oh Brian. Its ok. You still single?"
"Of course, I still love you…"
"I know I love you to baby…"
Brian smiled when she called him 'baby'.
"Alicia, I was calling to ask you if you guys wanted to come to our last concert. Its tonight in about two hours. You can just stay backstage, but I want to see you before I perform…"
"We'll be there. Meet us outside. Well we have to get ready now. I love you Brian Littrell…" ,p. "I love you to Alicia, bye…" Brian hung up the phone, and smiled widely.
"SHE STILL LOVES ME!!" Brian yelled happily hugging Nick and AJ.
Nick laughed. "Well Mandy isn't coming tonight, so maybe I can give it a few days before I have to tell Karine…" Nick said hopefully.
"Yeah…" AJ replied.
*at the same time*
"Brian!!! He called!!" Alicia screamed when she hung up the phone. "He still loves me!" she screamed.
"Ali, calm down!" Karine said. "Guys, what do you think Nick is going to think when he sees me again?"
"Oh Kari, don't worry, you look fine…" Sarah said, brushing through her wet hair.
"But I look so different now!" she replied, whining a little.
"Don't whine or I'm gonna slap you!" Alicia said. "Anyways, we are going to their concert tonight, so get dressed!"
Karine got up, and walked to her room. All three of the girls lived with each other in Karine's house. Her parents had moved back to Pennsylvania, and so she kept the house, and Sarah and Alicia had moved in with her.
All of the girls got ready, and since it would take 40 minutes to get there with all of the traffic. Alicia was wearing a tight pair of black pants, and a halter top that was sky blue, and had a few flowers on the front.
Karine was wearing a dark blue dress that was tight at the top, and was short and flowing at the bottom. It was low cut in the back, revealing her whole back.
Sarah had on a short black skirt, and a silk tank top that showed off some of her stomach.
They all got into the car, and drove to the venue. Once outside, Alicia spotted Brian right where he told her that he would be. She stepped out of the car, and walked over to him.
Brian gave her a hug, and a soft kiss on the lips, then hugged Sarah and Karine. He led them inside where Nick and AJ and the rest of the guys were waiting.
Karine's eyes lit up when she saw Nick. His blue eyes were sparkling, and he was checking her out. She walked over to him, and wrapped her arms around him, and hugged him. "I missed you so much…" she whispered in his ear, then pulled away a little, but still remained in his arms, and kissed him.
She ran her tongue over his soft lips, and felt them part. His tongue began to swirl with hers, and Brian and AJ just stared at the couple. Both of them knew that Nick still wanted her, but there was going to be a problem when he told her about Mandy, especially after kissing her that passionately.
AJ smiled at Sarah when he caught her eye. He hugged her tightly then kissed her forehead. "How have you been?" he asked looking her over.
"I'm doing good. I missed my best friends though!" she said, then hugged him again. AJ smiled as he hugged her.
"I missed you too…" AJ whispered in her ear.
She smiled at him, as they pulled away from their embrace. Finally Nick and Karine pulled away from their kiss.
"Wow, I missed your kisses…" she said as she stroked his cheek.
"Really? I missed yours too…" Nick kept his arms around her, and he looked around at the others.
Brian gave him a confused look, and Nick just smiled at him. He knew that he had to tell her about Mandy…just not yet…he was enjoying kissing her. She kept her arms wrapped around him while he softly kissed her head.
Brian looked down at Alicia and just smiled at her. She kissed his cheek and he hugged her tightly.
"Guys, we have to go perform," Kevin said walking into the room.
AJ looked down at Sarah, and gave her a soft peck on the lips, and gave Alicia and Karine a hug, and walked back stage.
Karine hooked her finger around Nick's chin, and pulled his mouth down to hers, and tenderly kissed him. "Good luck Nick…" she whispered, and kissed him again.
Brian kissed Alicia passionately and gave Karine and Sarah a hug and a kiss on the cheek and went back with the other guys. The girls went out into the audience where they had been assigned seats.
Alicia stared at Brian the whole performance, and half the time he would stare at her while he was singing a slow song. She even saw him mouth the one time to her, "I love you…" All the girls around her thought that he was saying it to them.
Meanwhile, Karine and Sarah started to talk when Karine wasn't staring at Nick.
"Sarah, how come we heard all those rumors about Nick having a girlfriend and then he kissed me that passionately when I saw him…." Karine said, biting her fingernails.
"Maybe he was talking about you?" Sarah guessed.
"No, no we were like broken up and then thats when he stopped calling, plus rumor has it her name is Mandy…"
"Aww Karine, I think Nick would have told you if something was different. And if he kissed you like that and he does have a girlfriend, I would kick his ass to New Zealand…"
Karine laughed a little, and looked up at Nick to find him staring at her while he sang his part in No One Else Comes Close. She stared at him while he sang. She saw something in his eyes that she never saw before, deceit.
