September 99 - 1985 Chevette 2 Door
We Don't have any pictures of this car yet. But they're on the way. This car got Throttled big time. It was powered by the same mighty 1.6L that was in the other Chevette. That was an unstoppable engine. We bought this car for 75 bucks and it had a blown engine.
We put a bit more time into this one, we built the back end special so that it wouldn't be dragging ass like most vettes end up doing. And As the pictures will show. It work good. Almost Too Good. Greg drove this one again as he likes doing the mini's. He drove an amazing first heat making the feature easily. But the car suffered slightly. We had to do some minor cutting, so that greg could see out the back. When Greg Went into the feature, a win looked like it was in the bag. The car preformed amazingly once again, greg got hooked on a VW jetta in the later stages of the heat, and pushed him from one end of the ring to the other 3 times before he could get loose. The Exhaust stack we made was glowing red at this point, the feature lasted about a half hour, and the vette never hesitated one bit. Even though it went into the feature with no rad. Greg got taken out when the 2 back tires popped and the car bottomed out, leaving him stranded, and the VW he was hooked on the winner.
To give you an idea how damaged this car was, the differential sheared in 2, and the front end went so high that the front wheels were rubbing on the fire wall. but we changed the tires and drove it onto the trailer. There was only winner takes all at this event, so we were extremly pissed off that we didn't get anything
