What is the Fuel in my Engine?
We’re wandering with no direction, with others, and the one with the map throws it aside as we’re walking towards evil.
1 Timothy
-Paul is writing about the false teachers to Timothy
-Paul’s purpose: Hey Timothy! You gotta stay focused on what’s important, or you’ll be pulled in all directions!
1 Timothy 1:3
"As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer."
-In the Bible, teachers are the model towards others, by exemplifying their lives and actions
PAUL’S INSTRUCTIONS:
-instead of deciding what to or not to do, what’s right and not right, just follow Jesus and He will NOT lead you astray
-goal of these instructions is love; what’s "right" will follow
Disciple: a learner
Christian: Christ-like
Thank heavens the Bible describes us as disciples most of the time!
"Any Longer": means even the false teachers have hope and grace with Jesus
