Focus on the Club

JCRCC Meeting Minutes - February 2000

The Jackson County Radio Control Club held its regular meeting February 8, 2000 at the Hardees in Gurley, President Homer Mitchell presiding. Attendees included Don Brewer, John and Mary Martin, Leon Keller, Tommy Freeman, Tom Coffin, Rusty Foster, Homer Mitchell, Joe Cochran, and Dick Beam.

The January minutes and treasurers report were approved.

OLD BUSINESS:

Homer Mitchell is to take care of the gift certificate for Kathy Riley.

March 11, 2000 is set as the date for the Spring Cleaning at the club field.

Combat and racing events were discussed. The insurance implications to be investigated.

A club dinner was tentatively planned for mid-July.

The newsletter will be published by way of the club web page.

NEW BUSINESS:

A rumored new hobby shop was noted, no information was available.

The old sign is gone, a donation to the club was promised when the letters are delivered to Jim Johnson of Johnson Motors.

An RC demonstration for a group of Cub Scouts was approved and planned, Joe Cochran is the focal point for the plan and schedule.

John Martin offered to check on portable toilet cost and availability.

The possibility of a club Post Office box was discussed, no final decision was made.

The elimination of the two year service limit for club officers was discussed and suggested for a vote of the membership at a later date.

MARCH MEETING

The March meeting will be at Hardee's in Gurley at 7 PM on Tuesday March 14.

CLEAN-UP DAY

Don't forget clean-up day at the field is Saturday, March 11.

OTHER NOTES

Congrats go to John Martin! John has been selected for lifetime membership in TVA in recognition for contributions to that organization.
