Lisa went to check their Caller ID. "Amanda and your parents called."
"It's Andrea," he corrected her. "I think I'm gonna visit my parents for a little bit."
"Well I have to go to work. I'll see you later tonight." She quickly pecked him on the cheek, picked up her purse, and started walking towards the door. "Bye."
"Hold up. I thought you'd come with me. Can't you take the day off? I just got home."
"Yes, I know that. But I still have to work." Lisa became a little moody. "What am I going to say? 'Hi, I'm not coming to work because my boyfriend doesn't want me to.'"
"Well I'm sorry," Brian said angrily. "Considering I'm only gonna be here five days I thought I might be able to spend at least a little time with my girlfriend." He hit his head with the palm of his hand. "What was I thinking?"
"Don't be a smart ass."
"I was going to ask you to go on tour with us as a surprise but I think I've changed my mind. I'll let you work."
"That's fine with me. Take Andrea. You wouldn't know the difference between her and your own girlfriend."
"Except for the fact that the group likes her. Don't bring her in this. She did nothing to you."
"Gee, Brian, you make me feel so wanted. It's nice to know your friends like me too," she said sarcastically as she walked out and slammed the door.
Brian looked out the window as she drove away. He grabbed the keys to his Beemer and stormed out the door. He got in and drove to his parents house. When he got there the door wasn't locked so he walked in. In the living room sat his mom and dad, Jackie and Harold Jr.; and his brother, Harold III. After everyone got reacquainted with each other they all sat down. Brian's smile soon faded as he sat.
"What's wrong?" asked his mom.
"Me and Lisa got in a fight," he replied.
"So you to are over with?" She continued as if he replied, "Yes." "I never really liked her much anyway."
"I never said we broke up."
"Did I say I didn't like her? I mean…"
"That's okay. I get that a lot from A.J. So what's for dinner?"
"Macaroni and cheese. And your favorite beverage, iced tea."
Brian smiled again. "Home Sweet Home."
As A.J. and Patricia drove up in his mom's driveway, his best friend Steve came out. "Patricia said you'd arrive in Orlando today and I knew where you'd go first so I went there."
"You know me too well, Steve. Who would know me well enough to come here first instead of my own home?"
"Well actually, I went straight to McDonald's. You weren't there so I came here next."
A.J. and Patricia got out of the car and walked in the house with Steve. "I guess you know me a little too well," he said to his friend. "Mother?! Where are you?"
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" His mother, came from the kitchen. After they hugged she backed up, looked him over, and laughed. "My son is a walking graffiti wall."
"I'm just perfect like that," he joked.
"I remember when you had those big, goofy hoop earrings, tattoo free skin, your natural hair color, no facial hair-"
"And no girlfriend," he added. "I may have changed but I'm better than ever with Patricia." They both kissed.
Steve rolled his eyes. "I'd live to stay and watch you two, Dippity-Do and Dippity-Dah, in your alternate universe but I gotta run. I'll see ya."
"Bye, Steve."
"So what's up with dad?" asked A.J.
"I haven't talked to him. Have you visited him? He's probably not too happy with what you said in Rolling Stone. If he read it."
"I have a feeling he did. I'm not gonna bother with him. I'm here to chill. Not to be constantly called upon by him."
"Good for you," said his mother. "You shouldn't have to put up with him if he's like that. Have you two had dinner yet?"
"We just had McDonald's," replied Patricia.
"Oh, darn. I brought some food home from there."
"Who says we can't have seconds?" asked A.J. as he walked in the kitchen, eager to find his food.
His mother just laughed. "That's my A.J."
