The Wolves' Christmas by DOESN'T WANT TO TELL

“HHHHoooooowwwwwwwllll! AAAAAARRRRRRRRooooooolllllllllll!” howled the wolf pack. It was December 24, 1999. The wolves howled at the moon. This is their Christmas story!

It is a dark night; the wolves couldn’t wait for tomorrow their favorite day of the year! Tomorrow is Christmas Day! Most people don’t believe that wolves celebrate holidays but they do, in fact they celebrate it more than humans. They give gifts, they sing, they feast, and they have fun!

Wind Call, the alpha male, had a very special gift for Snow Flake, his mate and the Alpha female. Snow Flake had something just as special! Wind Dancer, the beta, had something special for them both. They could hardly wait; it was their pups’ first Christmas.

Finally the sun rose and it was Christmas day. They exchanged gifts; Wind Call received a huge chunk of meat from the beta. He also received a Caribou, a huge elk his favorite kind of meat, from Snow Flake. Snow Flake received a small-orphaned husky pup from Wind Call and Wind Dancer. Wind Dancer received a huge bone one of his favorite things! The pups received a bird, which they played with until they got hungry and ate it.

Soon it was dinner time but they did not need to hunt because Gold Wolf, a friendly Indian, gave them a huge feast of Moose, Elk, Rabbits, Deer, Oxen, Caribou, birds and much more. In return of this feast the wolves promised to protect the Indian, their brother.

It soon was nighttime, the wolves decided to go caroling. How on earth does a wolf go caroling? By howling of course!! They howled We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Joy to the World, O’ Christmas Tree, Frosty the Snowwolf, Jack Frost, A Winter Wolf, and their favorite The Wolf’s Christmas. Now this arrangement is what you hear each Christmas if you live by wolves.

After a long day the sun sets and the wolves go to sleep waiting for next year. Now do you believe me? The wolf celebrates holidays!

(The End)

I AM NOT THERE Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there, I did not die. Author Unknown
