Meet "Chuck" Pierce
by: Jan Hicks

Dr. Charles D. “Chuck” Pierce has been used by God to intercede and mobilize prayer for local churches, cities and nations. Chuck is married to wife Pam; they have 6 children, and currently live in Denton Tx. He presently serves as Vice President of Global Harvest Ministries, is an ordained minister and serves as President of Glory of Zion International Ministries in Denton, Texas. He also serves on various national Boards of ministries within our nation, including Aglow International, Generals of Intercession, and the Global Strategic Prayer Network. He is a member of the International Coalition of Apostles and the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders. Chuck coordinates prayer for many of the major spiritual events and gatherings around the world. He also serves as Mobilizing Apostle of the USSPN, United States Strategic Prayer Network.

What an interesting man Dr. Chuck Pierce is and what a blessing he was to interview. We talked about many subjects during our conversation. Prayer was, of course, the topic of choice and one close to Chuck’s heart. When asked about prayer, Chuck shares, “The Lord personally met me and brought me into a place of dialogue with him in the 70’s. A lot of people look at prayer as work. Prayer is dialogue. It’s a relationship. Dialogue includes listening as well as talking. Some of the greatest hindrances of prayer are distractions. Many of us, as Christians, are like Martha, distracted and anxious over many things. Therefore we miss the opportunity to sit and visit with the Lord. This doesn’t mean we don’t love the Lord, it doesn’t mean we aren’t moving forward with Him, or that we don’t have a secure place in Heaven. We just don’t take our opportune time to visit with Him. I think that’s the worst thing. Our daily lives distract us from the relationship that should begin our day.”
Chuck goes on to say, “The Lord taught me a long time ago that if I would order my prayers, He would order my day. I believe in getting up, spending some time with Him. You don’t have to have a method; you don’t have to have a routine. He gave us a good enough method in Luke 11. So many try to go about their day without God’s order. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.”
Knowing Chuck understands about wounding of the heart, I asked him to share how this wounding can give wrong images of God. He said, “What happens with us is our traumas embed within, they affect our emotions, our minds get impacted and we can’t make a right choice in life. We can’t choose God because we

have a wrong view of God".
He continues, “I believe the prayer of faith can heal the sick, overturn any mountain, can do anything. The real issue is entering in the prayer of faith. Wounds we have in our spirit, in our soulish nature, (not healed) will prevent us from moving into the dimension of faith that we need to move into. The process of restoration that we go through is breaking iniquity patterns and moving forward. Right now like never before I see the prayer movement taking a tremendous shift. We are moving into a place of power and accelerated restoration. God’s raising up a strong army to go forth. You are going to see people healed very quickly, I think, they are not going to have to struggle.”
Chuck says, “The Father came to bless us. He wanted to bless us. He wanted us to enter into blessings. Blessing and cursing are very important to understand because the power of words are incredible. A blessing is words uttered to bring you into the success of God’s redemptive plan. A curse is words uttered to keep you out of success. God wants to bless us, but we are, also to bless God. You can be blessed with all spiritual blessings. Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. When I saw that, the Lord opened up the heaven; I saw the blessings God had for me, for my children. I was filled with faith. Faith overtook me. When you see this, you are able to bless others. So many times we operate in judgment instead of blessing.”
I asked Chuck the strategy for covering our President in prayer. Chuck said, “April and May are very key months to pray, to shield him.

If we adhere to the word of God by getting up and praying for the authority God’s given us in our lives, it’s going to raise our shield up so when you think of all the shields that will be linked together, he will be shielded so he can move forward and accomplish God’s plan. He has a greater influence than any of us. There’s more prayer going up for our nation now than ever in its history.”
Chuck is also a vital part of the U.S. Strategic Prayer Network which has leaders in all 50 states. Meetings are occurring in all states. I would advise any of you interested in joining in this great movement of corporate prayer over our states and nation to check Chuck’s website for more details.
Finally, I asked Chuck what was ‘the prayer that outwits the devil.’ Without hesitation he said, “In Psalms 89…David was anointed, established, in covenant alignment. So once we are in right relationship with the Lord, there’s not a plan the enemy has that is greater than what God has for you.”
