Bryan Slurp started out life a happy child. He was indulged and encouraged to explore by his parents and family. After a few years, the Bajoran/Cardassian occupation began, and all that changed. Bryan's father managed to get the family out, but as they were fleeing the planet, the family's ship was attacked and Bryan Slurp's escape pod was captured. he was put into a death camp, but managed to get out of being executed. The camp headmaster's daughter Taleen had fallen in love with him and saved his life. Seeing the injustice done to the Bajoran people, Taleen agreed to help Slurp in freeing the other prisoners. When the Federation finally came to assist, she left with her father and Slurp never saw her again.

Believing his family dead, Bryan Slurp joined the Bajoran military at age 18. He trained as a gunner at Fort Baton. Showing a mastery in weapons and leadership, Slurp quickly moved through the ranks. At age 21, Slurp ranked a Lieutenant and was assigned to his first ship, the Turnont as tactical officer and head of security. While on a mission, Slurp ran into a cargo ship sending out a distress signal. As a member of the away team, Slurp found his mother among the ships personnel. Once again reunited, Slurp found that his family had moved to the Saturn colony, and that his father was the captain of the Petroch.

Slurp considered going to live with his family, but as he had been ranked a commander, and given his own ship, the Highwind, he remained with the Bajoran military. At 22, Slurp was the second youngest to ever receive such an honor. After two years and successfully completing some major missions with such a small ship. Slurp became the youngest to ever be named to the position of Major. He was put in charge of the 2nd fleet. But Slurp missed his family. So after a year, he resigned the Bajoran Military and joined Starfleet Academy.

At SFA, Slurp majored in Tactical Operations which was already his specialty. Upon graduating from the Academy Slurp was assigned a position on Starbase 4 so that he could be close to his family. Seeing an unexplored potential, Starfleet reassigned Slurp to the ECF as tactical officer. After serving three years on the Concorde, he was promoted to the rank of Captain. He now commands the ship he has always protected.
