Dristi Areil Razell was born on Krios and was immediately recognized as a metamorph. Knowing the fate she would grow up to face, her mother, Malani, pleaded with her husband to save her from the life she would be forced to lead. Kivvec, having many contacts through his military transporting business, arranged for Malani and Dristi to find asylum on Betazed. There she was raised as a Betazoid female, honing her empathic abilities and enjoying a normal and free childhood. She saw her father on occasion when he returned to Betazed during his free time. Never told about her metamorphic abilities by her mother, her true identity remained unknown until her Starfleet entrance medical examination.
After confronting her mother and destroying the relationship between them, Dristi excelled in her studies at the Academy and graduated with flying colors. Her assignments on various starships afforded her the chance to learn and grow beyond what she believed she was capable of achieving.
During her assignment on the USS Victorious, she met and fell in love with Commander Jeff Holth, the then Executive Commander. It was at this time, her metamorph abilities broke free, and after extensive research and a trek back to her birth planet of Krios she learned what her life could have been if not for the sacrifice of her mother and father. This turn of events was the catalyst for her reconciliation with her mother and father. He died soon afterward, a devastating blow to both mother and daughter. Her relationship with Commander Holth was one of beauty and true love. She imprinted her self to him, becoming everything he ever wanted in a mate, while maintaining her own self-identity due to her Betazoid upbringing.
Commander Holth received his own commission the USS Bobcat in 2371 and Dristi accepted the Executive Officer position. Though never married in a tradition sense, the two became well known around the galaxy as one of the very few coupled command staff of the fleet. Captain Holth’s untimely and classified death broke Dristi’s heart, but her love of exploration kept her moving forward in her career.
Accepting her own command, the USS Hemlock in 2376, allowed Dristi the ability to show Starfleet and the Federation her true command abilities. Making a name for herself, and known for her ‘tough’ compassion and skilled judgment but no holds barred negotiation skills, she was offered the rank of Rear Admiral on Starbase 7 as the ECF Starship Data and Information Coordinator.
