She grew up on Betazed with her older brother Ian and little sister Anni. Lizzy always looked up to her older brother it was hard on her when he left home for the academy. She talked to her older brother just about every night while he was at the academy course it was in secret as her parents were not pleased to hear he left anyway.

She was only 10 at the time her brother went missing. She knew something was amiss when she hadn't heard from him in about 3 months. She contacted Starfleet and they told her he had died when his ship was destroyed. She refused to believe it so 4 years down the line she joined Starfleet and got accepted at the academy. After she graduated she stayed on earth while she waited for her posting. She got assigned to the USS Enterprise where she served as their AMO for 4 years. she then got reassigned as CMO on the hornet for another 10 years it was while on a away mission where she got injured and was left with a scare on her left leg where a Klingon has slashed it open.

She took leave from Starfleet for about 2 months in 2350 after her mother died. She considered resigning from Starfleet but the thought of never finding her brother didn't sit right with her. She requested starship duty but they assigned to to work at Starfleet medical she was there 2 years when she got word that her dad died. She finally got assigned to another starship it just so happened to be the Hornet-A She served as CMO till 2380. In 2380 she attended a medical conference on earth. she decided to stay and earth while she waited for her new posting. 3 years later she got assigned to the Terash-kah as their Chief Medical Officer.
