ECF Directives Acceptance Pledge

I, Lady Lolandra Karu hereby accept and promise to abide by as well as uphold all the Directives of the Exploratory Crews of the Federation.

Lolandra was born on the distant planet called Otopsia many centuries ago. Her father, an El Aurian trader made his home on the beautiful plant after meeting and falling in love with Tima. Tima was a mystic and healer. Her abilities to read peoples thoughts and foresee parts of the future as well as alleviate most of the illnesses her people succumbed to gained the attention of King Methos. While concocting a healing serum for the king, Gamex came before the king offering his wares, and caught the eye of his future wife, sealing his destiny on the planet.

Lolandra grew up in a loving home with her parents. As she grew older, she immersed herself in her studies. She followed her mothers footsteps for many years and became mystic and healer for her village. After more than three dozen years she took on another challenge and became advisor to King Methos. On her 100th birthday, Lolandra told her parents that she was leaving Otopsia to broaden her horizons and visit other worlds to gain as much knowledge as she could. She traveled the galaxy for one hundred and fifty-five years before quietly settling in Great Britain in 1594.

Not wanting to attract attention to herself, she married twenty year old Lord Henry Steel, Duke of York in 1595. The couple spent 15 years together before Lord Henry was stricken by the plague in 1607.

The years between 1607 and 1919 are vague and elusive for Lolandra. In December of 1919 her parents came to see her appointment as Poet Laureate on Earth. During their celebration in London the family was attack by a street gang and left for dead. Lolandra's mother was killed instantly, her father dying shortly after. Lolandra herself woke from a two-week coma with no personal memories of the last three hundred and twelve years. Over the years, parts of her memory have returned, though the process has been a slow one.

Lolandra moved on with her life after her parents death and immersed herself in all the cultures of the Earth. She lived through many countries and learned from many different people over the next two hundred years. She watched quietly from the sidelines when "First Contact" brought the Vulcans to Earth, and when she felt it was safe for her true identity to be revealed she joined Starfleet to continue her exploration of the galaxy.
