ECF Directives Acceptance Pledge

I, Admiral Kevin Braman, acknowledge the responsibilities of my office and pledge to perform those duties required of me. I shall uphold all ECF directives at all times.

Not much is known about Kevin Braman's past prior to his entrance into Starfleet Academy. Although a level 5 clearance file does exist on Braman's past, it is classified as a need to know document and kept encrypted by the ECF Personnel Coordinator. Like most El Aurians, he tends to keep his past vague. He does however, harbor an extreme dislike for the Borg and protested strongly when Starfleet elected to pass by an opportunity to see to their demise.

Braman entered Starfleet Academy in his 347th year. His first year at the Academy focused primarily on the science areas with heavy emphasis on quantum physics and quantum temporal mechanics. He later changed his course of study to command.

Proving to be a quick and adept student, Braman undertook specialized mission training, extensive colonization procedures and rigorous combat training in addition to his general Starfleet courses. Starfleet counselors felt his interest in these specialized areas were in part, due to his own world being assimilated and his people scattered across the universe.

Braman graduated from Starfleet Academy third in his class and was posted to the USS Alberta as the head of the stellar cartography department. His crewmates found him to be somewhat of an enigma but never hesitated to bend his ear with personal and professional difficulties. His work aboard the USS Alberta was did not go unnoticed and within one year, Braman was offered the post of Chief Science Officer aboard the USS Madison.

Once again, Braman distinguished himself in his new posting. He was well liked by his crewmates and his captain. It was only a short time later that Braman was to transfer again, this time to the USS Copernicus as her Operations Officer.

It was aboard the USS Copernicus that Braman found his true calling. His skill at multitasking and scheduling made the Copernicus one of the most efficiently run starships in the fleet. When the post of Executive Officer opened up, Captain Jerind Zanther never hesitated a moment to offer Braman the position.

Three years later, Starfleet pulled out the captain's chair for Braman and presented him with command of the USS Trafalgar. The ship was slated for a 5 year mission and during the course of that time, Braman negotiated several key treaties and alliances with previously undiscovered worlds.

On stardate 45850.4, the USS Trafalgar was struck by a quantum filliament. The Trafalgar suffered a complete system failure including life support. Her left nacelle was sheared off entirely and Braman, along with his crew was forced to abandon ship. Limping along at sublight speeds, Braman told his crew countless tales & legends he had learned as a child on his home planet over the open communications frequency link amongst the lifepods and shuttlecraft. 3 weeks later, when the crew of the ill fated Trafalgar were finally recovered, Starfleet doctors and counselors were amazed at how calm, relaxed and emotionally stable the survivors were.

Braman was debriefed and brought up to date by Starfleet. During the 3 weeks he and his crew had spent waiting for a starship rescue transport, the USS Enterprise had encountered a new and highly aggressive race, the Borg. Braman was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral and placed on the R & D team that was to develop an aggressive countermeasure to this new and potentially deadly threat to the Federation.

Braman remained in the Starfleet R & D department on Starbase 74 until stardate 54348.6, when he was approached by Fleet Admiral Ivan Dean of the ECF. Admiral Dean had been looking for the right person to add to his staff at Starbase 7. Braman readily accepted Dean's offer. He now holds the rank of Admiral and is the ECF's Mission Director and Directives Adherence Administrator.
