When Xari reached the age of sixteen, her world changed dramatically. She was taken from her home by her father and placed into a syndicate training facility. After intensive and grueling testing, it was determined that Xari was a prime candidate for espionage and subterfuge. Her pheromone levels were unusually high and she received level 7 inductional training. Along with this, Xari also became a gifted and accomplished pilot and excelled in hand to hand combat.
By the age of eighteen, Xari was a full member in the Orion Syndicate and had earned the respect, if not wariness of her fellow brethren. She served with distinction and was quickly amassing wealth of her own.
It was shortly after her twentieth birthday that Xari had her first contact with Starfleet and the Federation. She was stealthily following a damaged Nebula class starship and biding her time until she could raid the ship and take her spoils. Xari, part of a raiding party was mortally injured and left by her partners for dead. When she woke in the sick bay of the Federation ship, Xari was prepared for the worst. These were, after all, Humans! They ate their children! Instead, she found people who were kind and who wanted only to help her.
After her recovery, Xari learned more about Humanity and the Federation. Many of the nightmarish myths she had heard about the Federation were being quickly dispelled. She discovered that she did not need to use her inbred and learned talents with these people to survive and being near them gave here a sense of acceptance she had never felt before in the Syndicate.
It was inevitable that Xari would join Starfleet. She finished Academy training in just over three years and graduated with honors. She was part of Starfleet's elite Red Squadron and honed her already exceptional skills as a pilot there. She also found a love for science that blossomed into a major course of study for her. In gratitude and to honor the medical staff that saved her, Xari also took medical courses. Discovering a gift for diagnosis and healing, she returned to Earth and earned her medical degree. She is a qualified surgeon and research doctor.
Xari still finds ways to learn and grow. She completed a psychological program and has found it extremely helpful in her quest to learn more about the various and diverse races that make up the Federation.
To date, she serves on the USS Intrepid and finds her ship and crew a delight. Her life is filled each day with wonder and awe.
