Andrew J. Flippo

Andrew J. Flippo was the son of Henry Flippo and Susannah Nipper.  He was the brother of Francis Flippo. He was born in 1845 in Jackson County.  He enlisted as a Private with the Union Army on August 28, 1863 at Larkinsville and was assigned to the 1^st Tennessee and Alabama Independent Vidette Cavalry Co. A.  He married Tabitha Cox on May 5, 1864 while he was still enlisted.  Andrew was mustered out of service on June 16, 1864 and died 5 months later on November 28, 1864 of unknown causes at the age of 19.
