Rob Fenton
#21 Midfielder
Rob and Jennifer (c) Jennifer Stauffer
Ok, I absolutely could not make a plain-jane page about Rob Fenton...cause he's my favorite player! Well, I was going to wait until my birthday to get my picture taken with Rob, but I couldn't. So I got it taken at the August 2 game. Seeeeee? (ummmm, look up) Isn't that little blonde chick in the background evil. If I ever see her walking down the street, I'm gonna open a can of whoop @$$ on her! That was rude to get in my picture. If you want to read the story about me getting my picture taken with him,

So, I thought I would tell you a few more tidbits about him, besides the stuff I have for everyone.
Ok, I would say the biggest thing I've noticed is he ARGUES about everything. It's hilarious. Every time the ball stops, he's up arguing with the ref. I love it! He likes to argue with the the opponents, too. One guy pushed him for something he said...I thought I was going to go down on the field myself and whoop that guy's rear-end!
Now, on a little closer level...He is soooooooooo adorable. If you ever get close enough to him to see, his eyes are the prettiest shade of blue. They are so light, they are almost clear. It's enough to make me swoon!
Well, this is all I'm going to make you read...but if you want to read the first nifty story about me and him (it's a little long) you can

Tidbits from the Past
Rob Fenton came out as a strong foward in the Bishop Miege soccer team in the year of 1991. The team was basically made up of small, unskilled, and inexperienced players...but what they lacked in those fields, they easily made up for with something else. This team had heart. Thanks to that, they were having a successful season and wouldn't be letting up anytime soon.

Although his team was defeated, Rob Fenton did his part in the Kansas Class 1A-5A Region 2 championship 11/91 when he scored 2 out of 3 goals for Bishop Miege against Bishop Ward. His team lost 5-3 when Bishop Ward scored 2 goals in overtime.

Speaking on the Kansas High School Invitational soccer game 12/12/91 Rob Fenton, one of two players from his school to attend the game, said it was a second chance for some players and the first chance for others. "All the players that didn't make it to regionals and state get looked at," Fenton said. "I'm glad I found out about it. "

Tidbits from the 1998 Season
June 25, 1998, Pensacola took a 6-4 lead just 28 seconds into the second period on a short-handed goal by Rob Fenton off a restart from the left side of Lafayette goalkeeper Chuck Granade. Later Rob scored a two-point goal on a pass from Carpenter at the 13:47 mark to extend the Flyers lead to 16-10.
July 2, 1998, Rob Fenton scored a goal to add on to Pensacola's trailing score making it 10-4 with the Mississippi Beach Kings. Coming back from this wide point gap, Pensacola gained enough points to force a shoot out. Despite their efforts, they still lost 14-12.
Friday, August 7 had some horrible officiating. Rob Fenton was given a two-minute penalty becasue some dude decided to run all over him and then push him when he got up. Please, let's punish the one who didn't do anything! The Ref SUCKED

My Rob Fenton Story
I had gotten a few players autographs one week, including Rob Fenton's. I was talking to him about how my boyfriend could get on a team. Well, of course, I had to go back the next week. When we were standing in line to get the autographs the next game, I realized I was standing in front of the same people who had stood in front of me the last time. So, I started talking to them. When Brian Evans, the player my friend likes walked by, she got a little, ummmmmm, excited. Well, I told the people behind us that she liked him and I liked Rob Fenton.
So, Rob Fenton walked out, and I got a little excited. The guy behind me runs down the hall after Rob and tells him he has a friend in line who would really like to say hey to him and would he please go back. Rob said he doesn't usually go back but he would this time.
Well, he started back. By this time, I'm about 6 shades of red and really embarrassed. He stopped to shake a few kids hands and then worked his way back to me. I was freaking out like Miss America. I really didn't know what to do with myself.
So, he finally gets to me and by this time, everybody in the entire hall is watching. He comes up to me and says...
"Hey, how 'bout a hug?"
Needless to say, it was the coolest thing that has ever happened to me.
Getting my Picture with Rob
I had waited 8 days to go to another Flyers Game. I was so excited when it came. Well, I kept telling my boyfriend that I wanted to get my picture with Rob on my birthday and he would have to ask. But, when I got to the game, I just couldn't wait until my birthday. Plus, my friend Jennifer wanted to have her picture taken with Brian Evans. So, we all went down to the autograph area. Jennifer and I were going to take pictures of Brian and Rob when they came out, but for some reason we chickened out. So, we went through the line and were a little bummed that they weren't at the autograph table.
My boyfriend wanted to talk to the coach about how to get on the team. So I walked over with him. Jennifer and I found Brian and Rob. They were standing just inside the vip area where we couldn't go. I finally got Rob's attention and called him over. But, he thought I wanted Brian. So he told Brian to go over to me. I took this chance for Jennifer and asked him to take a picture with her. And he did.
Then I started my mission to get Rob's attention once more. Seeing the trouble I was having, my boyfriend decided to help. His method? He turns to the coach and says,"Could you please get Rob Fenton for her, she has a crush on him and wants to get her picture taken with him." Well, it worked. The coach said,"Oh, just go on in, if anybody asks, tell them I said you could go in."
So I waited for him to sign a few autographs, then asked him if I could get my picture with him. He said,"Sure, where we gonna do this? How 'bout over here?" So I walked over by him and he put his arm around me and we took the picture. Then he said,"Hey, didn't we do this last week?" I said,"Yea. Hey man, I am not stalking you."(I was a little embarrassed) He said,"That's ok, I need a few stalkers!"
So, I am now an official Rob Fenton Stalker! Ha-ha. So, just so you know...Rob Fenton recognizes me...that is so cool!
Just the August 7th Stuff
Well, I talked John, my boyfriend, into getting me a Flyers mousepad. When we got down to get autographs, I decided that I wanted only Rob to sign it. The first player passed the book to Rob and he asked if I wanted him to sign it a second time. And I said no, you have to sign this.
Some how it came up that we would be going to the August 16th game because it was my birthday. And I said,"Yeah, remember that" to Rob because I keep telling my friends that I want the score board to say Happy Birthday to Jennifer from Rob Fenton or something like that. Anyway, Rob said,"Hey, my birthday is on the 16th too" and at the same time we said,"But it's in November." So I got really embarrassed that I knew that cause everyone says I know too much about him. He kinda looked weirded out...OOPS.
Then I was at the next player, and I heard Rob asking if the person who had a mousepad next to me if they had a computer. Then I said,"Hey Rob, did you know you have your own webpage?" He said,"Me?" I said,"Yeah" He said,"Me personally?" I said,"Yeah" He said,"Well what's the address?" I said,"You want it?" He said,"yeah" So I wrote down the address for him.
Well, that's about all that happened. So, I'm done.
