NOT AN INTRODUCTION TO FREEDOM
The important question, which comes to one's mind when reviewing the case of the fake Koran, is how to define freedom. In other words what do we mean by freedom? Is it the freedom understood by the so-called free thinkers, or is it the freedom as understood in Islam the strange in a world fond of freedom even if it is the freedom of insult. Those who see this case in the light of the freedom of expression as viewed and practiced in the West strongly argue for the right of a forger to write and express himself in which ever way he chooses while, on the other hand, there are those who regard his work as blasphemous and a clear violation of all noble principles.
ABSOLUTE FREEDOM = ISLAM

Islam and believers in Islam are tied up in special spiritual relationship and the Arabic word ‘Islam’ (submission to god) means voluntary surrender to the will of Allah and obedience to His commands. Hence, is the misunderstanding and the contradiction between Islam as a system guiding the behavior of every Muslim, and systems believing in absolute freedom. On the other hand and by tracing the circumstances in which this work was appeared, including its title, one cannot but to assume that all this was not done in ‘good intentions and good faith’ from its writer. The whole thing looks as if he knew the consequences of posting his work “perhaps not on the international scale it had caused because this appears to have exceeded his expectations. Muslims erupted in anger not against the author nor against the ‘work itself as a site on the net’ but because of what they see is an  ‘insult of Islam and its symbols. Some visions suggest that this case was awaited chance for some fanatics who host this fake site to express their contempt of Islam. I can not belive it, how can one live carrying all this amount of hate.

History shows that in the early days of Islam, when the Islamic state was strong, Islam helped a lot in advancing human civilization and it assimilated and benefited from the civilizations before it even though some of the concepts and philosophies governing some of these civilizations contradicted Islam own concepts specially with regard to the question of creation, God and life.  Irrespective of the views and behaviors of some individual and Muslim governments Islam as a religion guaranties every individual freedom unless this infringes on the rights of the others. Surely when the author of this site wrote his fake verses, he did not pay attention to the feelings of millions all over the world.

A BIG BUT?
