Many forms of (fill in the blank) rely on a stochastic process. Geomancy, I-Ching, Tarot Cards all rely on randomness. Stochastic Fats was no different. However, as the computer does not generate a purely random process, Fats could not rely on his tool of the trade for input. Thus Fats was inexorably drawn to large crowds. You would often find Fats in crowds, the New York Stock Exchange, Sporting Events, concerts, deep in concentration listening to the background noise. It was here that Fats found he was most Stochastic. He would simply clear his mind and enter a light trance. He would then open his mind up to the noise and words and bits would fall in. There was really no connection between him and the crowd. Once as an experiment he taped an entire session and could find not a single trace of anything he had picked up. His only explanation was that he was hearing what his other selves were hearing in other dimensions and that somehow he was able to hear whole sentences form out of the chatter of vast herds of people in parallel universes. It was a power. A gift.
