This poem was written by a good friend of mine. She lost a sister to cancer during the holiday season. Even though this poem is about dealing with a loss during Christmas, I think that it truly applies to everyone that has lost someone close to them all year 'round. This poem has found a place in my heart and I'm sure that it will find a place in yours.

Christmas in Heaven

God gave us Christmas to celebrate life -- to pass on tradition of the gift of Christ; but for souls who've already joined Him this season, we must trust in His word and not question the reason.

We ask the Lord to grant us the peace of knowing our loved ones are safe in His keeps. Thouhgh looking ahead and with Christmas in site, we wonder what Christmas in Heaven is like.

As it is on earth, love grows seventy times seven; how much more it must grow for our loved ones in Heaven! We experience the joys of musical sounds, while the trumpets in Heaven can be heard all around.

We watch as a child gets a favorite toy, and Christmas choirs bring us comfort and joy; but our Heavenly loved ones have a choir like no others, as they sing with our Lord and their sisters and brothers.

The spirit of Santa Claus still lingers on -- it's better to give when the giver's unknown; but as we grow wiser, the true spirit comes through -- it's the One who sent Jesus for me and you.

For those who are saddened with the loss the Christmas, remember God's promise of peace id within us. As the spirit of our Savior is present and near, our departed loved ones have Christmas all year!
