Welcome to Bharat Sevashram Sangha

HOCAP

One of the main activities of Bharat Sevashram Sangha,Mumbai is to provide free boarding and lodging as well as guidance to outstation cancer patients and the accompanying family members who come to Mumbai from all over the country for treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. In deserving cases free medicines as well as financial aid is also provided. But the facilities currently available was rather inadequate i.e. only 22 patients with their attendants can be accompanied at a time.

In order to augment these facilities, the Sangha had undertaken an ambitious project to construct a complex at Vashigaon. We have great pleasure to state that the construction of the said complex has been completed and the same was inaugurated on 6th June'99 by H.E. Dr.P.C.Alexander in the presence of Hon'ble Dy.Chief Minister of Maharashtra Sri Gopinath Munde and other dignitories.

The complex named as Swami Pranavananda Seva Niketan, consists of four floors having 18 rooms and 3 dormitories. The total cost of construction including a small corpus for medicine was about $118202. Now we are in a position to accomodate 60 cancer patients along with their attendants at a time. We are glad to say that various donors have come forward with generous donations which have enabled us to complete the construction of the complex. Some of the major donors were Kalidas Mullick No.1 Charitable Trust,Calcutta,G.D.Birla Medical Research & Education Foundation,M/s Laynard Foods Ltd, M/s L & T,Mumbai,M/s.Oil and Natural Gas Corporation,M/s.Lubrizol India ltd and numerous other donors.

PROPOSED EXPANSION OF THE SEVA NIKETAN
However ,even though the newly constructed Pranavananda Seva Niketan has greatly augmented the existing rather modest facilities previously available with us, this is clearly a drop in the ocean. The complex is always full and the waiting list of patients yet to be accomodated keeps on increasing. Having seen the pitiable condition of suffering humanity,we cannot remain a silent spectator. Thus we have come to the conclusion, that the "SEVA NIKETAN" will have to be expanded soon so that the accomodation may be doubled. Fortunately for us a plot of land admeasuring 200 square meter adjacent to the "Seva Niketan" is available for which we have already initiated negotiation. The estimated cost of the proposed expansion will be as under.
1.Estimated cost of land $45000
2.Estimated cost of construction $80000
3.Additional corpus for Medicine $15000
Total $140000

In order to enable us to undertake the construction of the proposed expansion project we hereby make a fervent appeal to your goodself to extend your hand of assistance. We can evolve suitable modalities to recognise your donation, such as naming the complex or naming a floor etc after your beloved one, depending upon the quantum of your financial assistance. It may kindly be noted that donations to Bharat Sevashram Sangha is exempt from income Tax u/s 80G of indian I.T. Act. Thanking you and awaiting your favourable consideration of our appeal at an early date. Cheques /Demand Drafts may please be drawn in favour of "BHARAT SEVASHRAM SANGHA" payable at Mumbai.
Your's in the service of humanity,
Swami Prashantanand,
Director, Bharat Sevashram Sangha New Bombay, India.
