For my last assignment in my English class in 2001, I had to write "something" for our Modern Lit. unit. I was enrolled in American Lit. "Something" is a bit vague, and the class asked for clarification. "You are modern authors." Our teacher responded. "Whatever you write will be modern lit." So, the due date drew near and I had not thought of anything to write, but then a realized something: I write farily often! I had written several stories from the point of view of historical characters. At the time, I only had two strong characters, Ankhesenpaaten, an Egyptian princess/queen, and Marie Nikolaievna Romanova of Tsarist Russia. I had already done projects relating to ancient Egypt, and I didn't want to seem too weird, so I went with Marie. I handed it in, and I got an 'A.' Woo Hoo! Not only did it improve my grade, but my confidence in my fiction (well, historical fiction) writing. My teacher also said it would be a wonderful opening scene for a movie, so if there any producers out there... ;)
Now that I've rambled on and on, let's get to the story, shall we?
