This section will cover all your needs on what the heck is a Gameboy Advance to whether you should buy one or not. This'll also tell you about the adapters and must haves for your GBA. Keep reading because this is one exciting section!!!!

GAMEBOY ADVANCE (for first timers what is it?)

Gameboy Advance is a one of the best hand held video game devices in history. Some may say it's just as good as the old Sega hand held. That is wrong, Sega only had an 8bit processor in it and the games ran slower. You might not think so but they did. Also the Sega system was large and bulky and it was IMPOSSIBLE to fit into your pocket. Making it need a travelers case. The screen of the Sega system is much smaller than Gameboy Advance.

With Gameboy Advance it's a nice little small compact system which fits into any pocket possible, TRULY AMAZINGLY GRAPHICS no other hand held system could compete against. It's even better than SNES, Nintendo mentions it runs circles around SNES with able to produce high quality rendered 3d graphics. Like For instance Silent Hill which was launched with the GBA in Japan. Also it could play some of the N64 games like Yoshi's Story if the n64's version was ported over to the GBA. Do you get the picture now? If you want to see it to believe it check it out here!

The Benefits of having a GBA is that you can play ANY Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Color only game on the market. No, don't try stuffing your N64 carts into the system and don't try it with SNES carts too. It will only end up with the cause of Breaking your Gameboy Advance or the game you're trying to stuff. If you're wondering where that intro came from I'm starting it off with Gameboy Advance Cartridges. The GBA Cartridge is half the size of a regular Gameboy, Gameboy Color Game cartridge. Making it easy to store and it doesn't take up much space. The cartridges are a sleek black color with a little bendy edge at the top. Also they have a notch in the side. Why? I'll explain. To make the GBA compatible with the GBC and GB games they would've had to reprogramm the GBA to recognize each game. That would've taken too long and delays would've been produced. So none of the regular carts have notches.... why don't they put in a switch in the input section to register if it's a regular Gameboy cart or a GBA cart? It's a whole lot easier than reprogramming. So, when the GBA game doesn't push onto the switch it'll register as a GBA game being put in. When the switch is pushed down it'll register it as a regular game boy game and enhance it with things like making the screen stretch, upgrading quality of colors.

Q&A
What is backwards compatible mean? Backwards compatible means that you are able to play existing games on the certain system. GBA, GBC and PS2 offer this on their systems.
What happens when I plug in my existing GB or GBC (only) game? The game will be enhanced with better color quality and you will be able to have a choice of keeping the game the same size as before or stretching it so it fits on the horizontal screen. No other upgrades will be performed (e.g. use of the L and R buttons)
Is there a device that can import a N64/Snes/Nes game to GBA? No, not at the moment. Only Nintendo has such of a device and there are no plans for games from the N64 to go onto the GBA except Yoshi Story.
Is the sound quality of the GBA improved more than the GBC and GB? Yes, they have a new and better sound system in the GBA, allowing you to hear richer and more better sounds and music. You can even imitate the sound of an electric guitar, bass, drums etc. to perfection.
Will GBA have a game that takes use of this really great sound system? Yes, there are plans for a game called "Gameboy Music", unknown at this moment if a release in North America is final.
That is all for now
Well, this is the end of the huge preview. Hope this answers some of your questions and gives you alot of info. Until June 13th I will update you on every tidbit I have on GBA. On June 13 expect me to do a big update and have some pics of me enjoying the GBA (to see what I'm purchasing click here).
