Tyler's 1979 John Deere Trail Fire 340, In Progress

This is my John Deere, I aquired it in October 2001, When I went up to get it, it came with 2 other sleds (1975 Mercury s/t 440, and a 1976 John Deere Cyclone). At first I wanted the Cyclone and sell the trailfire off, but my plans had changed. After the carb messed up on me I decided to sell it. I didn't want to crowd the back yard.(I currently have only 5. but at that time I had 7.
I spent 2 weeks stripping it down. (only an hour or so a day.) I have 2 hoods for it, both in great shape. (anyone looking for one e-mail me and I can tell you about it.) After I stripped it down and spent $50.00 (Hood, to get the clutch pulled) I went and wasted another $30.00 on spray paint. Never use spray paint to paint a sled, I even forgot to sand blast it.
I have already got a shop renter for next spring in Alliston, so that will help me get it done. For now Im just going to put the new motor in it get it going and run it around the farm.
