Ranma is a young teenager who went with his father on a martial arts training expedition. Durring this journey they went to a cursed springs where both in turn fell under curses.

As a result both Ranma and his father now change into another form when splashed with cold water.

Genma(Ranma's dad) turns into a giant panda. Ranma, well he becomes a buxom red-headed young girl.

But luckily, they can both return to their true forms when doused with hot water.
